It's Saturday afternoon and, I'm gradually waking up after a night out in Newport seeing Dan Goatham (S***f, Spoilers, etc) on the first date of his solo acoustic tour. It's a great night out if you have the chance to see him across the country over the coming few days.

Fans of Melvic Centre are going to want to pay attention to this one!

Joint Pains are another awesome band from Newcastle, Australia and just like Melvic Centre, they include both Nic Roser & Will Mitchell in their lineup. 'Ouch' is their debut, self-released album on limited edition black vinyl imported from Australia exclusively for sale at Brassneck for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere.

It was released digitally last year and made it easily into my personal favourite albums of 2025 list. Grab a copy now and it can easily appear in your highlights of 2026.

I can’t really liken Joint Pains to any one specific band, but if you get a kick out of Melvic Centre, Superchunk, Late Bloomer, The Smoking Popes, Shoplifters, The Weakerthans and that kinda thing, you’re going to enjoy the hell out of this record. If you live in the US, postage from Brassneck just got mildly cheaper.
Sadly, there's no way to avoid the high costs entirely, but if you were putting off picking up a record because of this, maybe stop by and see how the reduced postage works out as of today.

Everyone else, your postage rates remain unchanged (soz), but the records are pretty well priced anyway, so thanks for continuing to shop at Brassneck. Every order is appreciated.

Dan from Spoilers / S***f will be on tour next month across the UK.

Having witnessed his solo show at Croc Fest earlier this year, I can vouch for it being a jolly good time indeed.

I'll be at the Newport gig, so hopefully I'll see some local folk there, but here's the full tour schedule. Please check out your local gig and, as always, please support your DIY promoters and buy tickets in advance.

Wrong Life are back with their second album, ‘I Can’t Remember Where I Live’.

When The Murderburgers split up, Wrong Life filled the void with a debut album and a handful of EPs. Impeccably structured bleak punk that perfectly captured the spirit of the 'burger legacy but took it to new and interesting places.

This development continues apace across the ten new songs presented on album number two. From the opening song “Bones Become Glass Become Bones” the tone is set. Fraser’s lyrics tell tales of loneliness, uncertainty and a life lived in the margins, all set to a musical score that combines emo and melodic punk influences without ever falling into a specific pigeonholeable sound. All of this is complimented by the magnificent, haunted landscape of Nige Barnes’ reimagined Edinburgh that adorns the album’s sleeve. A maze of staircases that lead to nowhere, hills too exhausting to climb and a single solitary figure existing as smoke in a world it reluctantly inhabits but cannot succeed within.

The album is available now physically and digitally.

Thanks for the huge response to the sale this weekend. I spent most of Saturday packing up your orders and everything purchased before 11am today has been posted.

For those who missed it, there are still several sale items left as well as a load of other reasonably priced records that I recommend you give some attention to.

Thanks for supporting DIY punk and making it possible for labels and distros to keep going. It means a lot.
