2026 is ready to unite and inspire ✴︎

Three Mercury Prize nominees, exclusive UK performances, immersive happenings and a programme spanning everything from grassroots gigs to major international artists will form part of Cardiff Music City Festival 2026.

Returning from October 2 to October 17, Cardiff Music City Festival will once again bring together Sŵn, Llais, Welsh Music Prize and a diverse programme of performances, talks, pop-ups, exhibitions and special events in venues across the Welsh capital.

Yn dychwelyd rhwng 2 Hydref a 17 Hydref, bydd Gŵyl Dinas Gerdd Caerdydd unwaith eto yn cynnwys Gŵyl Sŵn, Llais, y Wobr Gerddoriaeth Gymreig a rhaglen amrywiol o berfformiadau, sgyrsiau, arddangosfeydd a digwyddiadau arbennig mewn lleoliadau ar draws prifddinas Cymru.

An evening of tall tales and top tunes from half a century working on the wilder fringes of the Music Industry. Expect encounters with Alexis Korner, Ray Davies, Elton John, Peter Gabriel, Todd Rundgren, Eddy Grant and Brian Eno – alongside classics such as War Baby, Glad to Be Gay, and 2-4-6-8 Motorway. Plus unexpected back catalogue gems from Café Society (1975) to Only The Now (2015) in this brand new two man show with virtuoso guitarist Adam Phillips.
