As many of you know, I'm a big fan of legacy organising.

Legacy organising isn’t always about clearing an entire house. Sometimes, it’s about tackling one area (or even a few), making big decisions and taking away a little of the overwhelm.

This morning I spent a couple of hours helping a lovely client declutter and sort through items she no longer needed.

Knowing she wasn’t able to take everything to the charity shop or dispose of it herself, I took it all away for her.

Sometimes it’s those little practical things that can make the biggest difference.

A lovely five-star review has made my day.

Whole Home Reset Photos Part 3:

I shared the lovely testimonial last week of the whole home reset project I finished last month.

From initially not wanting me to share any photos, my client has allowed me to post these because they want others to know how transformative a home can become with professional help.

I haven't shown all photos taken throughout this process as these were my client's wishes. Today I'm showing photos of an area they decided to tackle themselves...the summer house.

By employing other professional services to clear, clean and repaint this area, the client now has a space to sit and rest.

It's a great example of how inspired they've been to reclaim their space since reaching out for my help.

On one occasion we sat in this room with a cup of tea and admired the surroundings. A much calmer and more relaxed space to be used when life gets too much.

It's been a fantastic transformation and I'm really pleased that my client is happy with the results and now feels they can invite friends and family back into their home ❤️

Today is another new month - a month for more potential clients.

September was my busiest month to date - thank you to all my clients for inviting me to help you organise your spaces.

Whole Home Reset Photos Part 2:

I shared the lovely testimonial last week of the whole home reset project I finished last month.

From initially not wanting me to share any photos, my client has allowed me to post these because they want others to know how transformative a home can become with professional help. ❤️

The second area we tackled was the lounge. Aside from the usual seating area, this room was multi-purposed, acting as a craft and hobby area.

✔️ A quick fix by removing the washing pile and hanging clothes in wardrobes
✔️ Surfaces cleared and cleaned and only necessary items left out
✔️ A trip to B&M to purchase storage containers for new under table craft shelving and supplies
✔️ Items removed from the table top - re-homed or donated to charity / recycled
✔️ Cupboard cleared out and cleaned and CDs and important paperwork neatly filed away
✔️ Unused items cleared from cupboard surface, cleaned and tidied. Items donated to friends or charity
✔️ Sentimental items only left on display

Q2: What happens during a decluttering session?

Firstly, every client is different, therefore, every decluttering session will vary.

A: I help and support you to make decisions in order to organise, simplify and sort your space.

During the sessions we will gather items from a category e.g. clothes from your wardrobe or food packets from within a kitchen cupboard, and then start to make decisions on what you want to keep hold of, discard, donate or sell.

I will help and support you to make decisions based on your vision. The sessions include lots of conversation, decision-making and learning.

Q3: What kind of clients do you work with?

A: I work with all different clients including:

* Overwhelmed homeowners
* Busy professionals preparing to move
* People with ADHD
* Families after bereavement
* Older adults downsizing
* People moving into care

The first area I tackled was the kitchen (I do love a kitchen reorganisation!).

✔️ A quick fix by hanging the ironing board on the back of the kitchen door creating space by the washing machine
✔️ Surfaces cleared and cleaned and only necessary items left out on the worktops
✔️ Cupboards decluttered, cleaned and reorganised to allow a better flow of the kitchen
✔️ Medication cleared from work surfaces and safely stored away in visible boxes
✔️ Items removed from the tops of cupboards and donated to charity / recycled

TESTIMONIAL TUESDAY 🤍

This testimonial is a particularly special one for me, because it comes from a project I worked on over five months.

My client was initially extremely overwhelmed, a feeling I know many people experience when their home has become difficult to manage, and understandably unsure of what could actually be achieved.

Allowing someone new into your home can take a lot of courage. After those first couple of sessions, trust began to build. My client started to feel more comfortable, more involved and most importantly, began to notice the difference that having support was making.

What started as a few sessions gradually became a full home reset.

Why? Because my client could feel the difference in how she was living in her home.

A home where she had once felt unable to invite people over became a home she described as her sanctuary. She worked through her belongings, made decisions she had struggled with for years, cleared 50 bags of clutter, removed furniture, redecorated her stepdaughter’s room, and, along the way, began to feel more able to take action and ownership herself.

The most meaningful part for me is that the work didn’t stop when our sessions did. My client has chosen to have me return every few months for ongoing support 🤍

A ten minute win ⏰:

It took less time to clear this space behind the kitchen door than it did for Taylor Swift to sing this song!

The first session with my new client this morning concentrated around the kitchen area. With ten minutes left before I went home, we tackled the space where the family store their coats and shoes...and bags for life.

Most coats were taken upstairs to hang in the wardrobe, several pairs of shoes and children's hats bagged up for recycling, and the amount of bags for life reduced.

We shared a joke about bags for life not actually meaning we need to hold on to them all forever 🤭 We're all guilty of having too many B4L in our homes but we only actually need a handful - and some kept in the car for emergency shopping!

I was very impressed by the way my client folds plastic bags up into little triangle parcels - professional organiser in the making!

There are often jobs that can be done, even if you only have a short window of time to do them in.
