LAST WEEK IN DECEMBER ❄️✨

There’s a gentle quietness throughout the home this week 🤍. As we slowly begin to move forward into the New Year over the next couple of days, the atmosphere feels calm, cosy, and reflective 🌙✨.

Today was all about one‑to‑ones and classic games 🎲🧩. We shared several lovely chats about the festivities, family, and long‑held traditions 🎄❤️. Jigsaws were completed with teamwork and patience 🧩🤝, and a few lively games of dominos brought out some very strong contenders — the competitive spirit was definitely alive and well 😄🔥.

We also enjoyed reading The Daily Sparkle together 📖✨. Our conversations wandered through pantomimes over the festive period 🎭, winter holidays ❄️, skiing adventures ⛷️, and the timeless charm of Jane Austen’s books 📚💐.

The trees are up, the decs are up — hip hip horrayy! 🎉 We are very much looking forward to December and can’t wait to welcome all our wonderful activities. 🌟

The home is looking beautifully festive with 6 sparkling Christmas trees, cheerful Santas 🎅, and decorations that bring joy to every corner. 🎄✨ Christmas music fills the air 🎶, wrapping us all in warmth, laughter, and holiday spirit. ❤️

CHRISTMAS DAY AT GREENLANE 🎅❤️

What a magical Christmas Day we had at Greenlane ✨. Our very own fabulous Mrs Claus made a grand appearance, and didn’t she look amazing 🎀🎁. She spent the morning giving out presents to all our residents, filling the home with love, hugs, and plenty of laughter 🤗💖

Crackers were pulled with a bang 🎉, a delicious Christmas dinner was served 🍽️😋, and there were full tummies and happy hearts all around. The sound of laughter drifted through every corridor, creating the warmest festive atmosphere 🎶❤️.

We also took a moment to think of all the incredible people working over Christmas 🌟. You truly are a special bunch, and we appreciate everything you do — today and always 🙏💛.

We’ve been feeling wonderfully festive here at Greenlane today 🎄💫
The Christmas music has been playing, the classics have been on the TV 📺🎶, and the whole home is starting to sparkle with stockings, decorations, and the odd little gift appearing for our lovely residents 🎁🧦✨

Family Choice Award Winner 2025

This year’s Family Choice Awards have once again reminded us just how much of a difference our teams make to residents and their families every single day.

Nominations came directly from residents and family members, and every message was genuine, heartfelt, and rooted in real experiences of care. Words such as kind, patient, supportive, calm, reassuring and loving featured throughout, alongside repeated recognition of teams who consistently “go above and beyond” to provide personalised support and a true sense of community.

During our live prize draw on 23rd December 2025, a £500 holiday voucher was awarded at random from the nominations, and we are delighted to congratulate Louise at Abbotsfield Care Home as our 2025 Family Choice Awards Winner.

Thank you to every colleague who was nominated, and to every member of our teams across PH Care Group for the compassion, professionalism and pride you show in your work—your dedication is noticed, valued, and appreciated.

Holy Communion & Christmas Carols 🎶🙏

Today, several residents gathered together for a joyful time of Christmas carols 🎄🎵, followed by a peaceful and heartfelt Holy Communion service.

We shared familiar and much‑loved hymns such as O Little Town of Bethlehem and Away in a Manger 🎶⭐ — just a couple of the beautiful songs that filled the room with warmth and togetherness.

Residents came together in song, voices blending gently and creating a lovely sense of unity 🤝💛.
Afterwards, we shared The Peace, offering kindness and calm to one another ✨🕊️.

Our conversations flowed into the meaning of 6th January — Epiphany Day 📅👑, commemorating the visit of the Three Kings to baby Jesus. Residents chatted about the many different days, ways, and traditions that Christmas is celebrated around the world 🌍🎁.

We then joined together in The Lord’s Prayer, followed by communion, stillness, and a shared sense of peace 🙏🕯️.

Sending warm wishes, heartfelt thanks, and a Merry Christmas to one and all from everyone here at Greenlane ❤️🎄✨

✨ Festive Fun with Brampton Woodwork

Residents gathered around the table, chatting, laughing, and creating the most beautiful festive Christmas cards for their loved ones 🎨💌. The room was full of colour, concentration, and that lovely December buzz that makes these moments feel extra special ❄️❤️.

We truly appreciate the time you volunteer — it makes such a meaningful difference to our residents and brings so much joy to our home 🙌💖.

🎶💃 I like to move it, move it! 💃🎶

Today at Greenlane we welcomed the fabulous, energetic Mish from Move It or Lose It! ✨ Once a month Mish brings her exercise-based classes to us, and wow – what a burst of encouragement and enthusiasm she brings! 🌟 She had some of our hibernating residents stretching, smiling, and joining in with her lively spirit. 💪😊

In the afternoon, things slowed down with some quieter games 🎲🦁. Snap was a big hit with animal cards 🐒🐻, and of course we enjoyed a bit of our lovely Daily Sparkle ✨📰. Puzzles at the back kept minds busy 🧩🧠, while a few one-on-one chats brought fascinating conversations.

🐕 Did you know racing greyhounds can reach speeds of 45mph?! 🏎️ That fun fact sparked chats about other speedy animals – horses 🐎 and cheetahs 🐆 naturally joined the conversation.

It was a day full of movement, laughter, and curiosity – just the way we love it at Greenlane 💚🌈.

🎶 Music 4 Health – Festive Fun at Greenlane 🎄✨

Once a month we have the absolute pleasure of welcoming the lovely James from Music for Health into our home 🎵. This week he arrived with a full festive theme, and the atmosphere was nothing short of magical ✨.

Residents pom‑pommed, jingled, and danced their way through the session 💃🕺. The room was filled with laughter, movement, and the joyful sound of carols being sung together 🎤🎄. James also treated everyone to a festive quiz, challenging us to guess the Christmas tune — plenty of smiles and friendly competition all around 🎁😊.

In the afternoon, we slowed the pace and enjoyed some meaningful one‑to‑one time 💛. Residents spent time reading Christmas cards, sharing memories, and chatting about the lovely messages they received 💌. Others relaxed with jigsaws, focusing, chatting, and enjoying the calm together 🧩✨.

A day full of music, connection, and festive cheer — just what December is all about 🎅🌟
