Gary K (Keelor) is one of a very few versatile DJ's to come out of Carlisle (Cumbria). From the age of about 11 he grew up listening to the likes of Paul Oakenfold, Judge Jules, Pete Tong and Seb Fontaine on Radio 1 on a weekend. He vastly got the buzz for Dance Music and began collecting various tape packs from Pink Panther Records in Carlisle and later attending Ibiza Mania under 18s Dance Event
s in Carlisle between 1998-2000 which was a massive influence on him becoming a DJ. Gary got his first set of turntables at the age of 14, learning the trade the proper way as some would say and boy did he do it. He started getting bookings in 2001 at 15 years of age, playing Dance Anthems (House/Trance/Club Classics) for Vibe under 18's dance events at Freedom nightclub & The Brickyard (Carlisle). Once he turned 18 in 2004 he began playing for Destiny @ Club XS (Carlisle) and other venue's in the City. That was when he started making a name for himself getting bookings for Dance Factory at Club XS & Terminal 1 (Carlisle), Fusion in Workington (Cumbria) and Sanctuary at Club One-Eleven, Klub DNA and Syndicate in Blackpool (Not forgetting he won the Sanctuary competition to play Syndicate main room) plus other Dance events in Cumbria and the North West up until 2008 when he decided to put on his own events. One being House Classics brand Formula which is still ongoing to this day. Rapidly gaining a good reputation for himself with Formula, along with his DJ talent, constant hard work, determination and self promotion he bagged himself a residency at The Melting Pot in Carlisle (RIP) and bookings for Retro, Uber (Carlisle), Goodgreef, Sunrise, Zone, Cream Anthems Tour, Kissdafunk + many other club brands. Gary is no stranger to playing on the big stage having supported / been on the same bill as DJ's such as MK, Todd Terry, Riva Starr, Jordan Suckley, Claudia Cazacu, Scott Bond, Matt Hardwick, Seb Fontaine, Rob Tissera, K-Klass, Allister Whitehead, Paul Taylor, Andy Pendle, Danny Bond, Alex K and Kutski to name a few. He has played at venues such as The Big Amsterdam Boat Weekender, Blackpool North Pier, Rainton Meadows Arena (Durham), Halo/Synergy (Warrington), Syndicate, Domain/Sanuk, Klub DNA & North Pier (Blackpool), Maximes & Pure (Wigan), The Empire (Middlesbrough), Fusion (Workington) plus almost every club in Carlisle since 2001 including Freedom, The Venue, The Brickyard, The Melting Pot, Club XS, Terminal 1, Botanica + many more. Gary has 15 years experience at club level under his belt and is a well respected DJ in Cumbria, he boasts flawless mixing skills, unique/multi genre sets and brilliant tune selection. He has the knowledge and ability to whip up a storm on the dance floor at peak time as well as having the know how to open or close a night. Still only 35, you can expect big things from Gary, who is a regular for Retro and Sanctuary and he currently holds residencies fir RudeDog Productions, The Italian Job and Formula, all having big plans for the future, you will no doubt be hearing and seeing him for many of years to come.
