The HORSCH Leeb Xeric 14 FS, the first pneumatic HORSCH fertiliser spreader, will go into series production for season 2026. After its presentation at the Agritechnica 2023, the machine was used intensively and further developed based on extensive field experience.

Series production now starts with new features and optimised technology. In addition to the familiar working widths of 36 and 48 m, a 39 m version now completes the range. With a capacity of 14 m³, short filling and long spreading times in combination with operational speeds of up to 20 km/h, the Xeric offers an efficient solution for the narrow time window of fertiliser spreading.

Also new in the range is the optional tyre pressure regulation system which allows for a flexible adjustment of the tyre pressure while driving. This increases the contact area and significantly reduces the ground pressure, thereby extending the possible time window for using the machine.

Kuhn Farm Machinery has added Ben Burgess to its specialist big baler centres, offering Kuhn SB baler customers improved access to sales, service and back-up at dealer level.

The addition will cover all Ben Burgess depots and is centralised at the Coates outlet. Existing and prospective baler SB customers will now have access to dedicated demonstrator machines, and a demonstrator programme will be running throughout the season. Ben Burgess staff will also receive factory level training from Kuhn to support users throughout the season and optimise the machines for greater performance.

John Hulland, Kuhn’s UK Sales Manager, says the appointment strengthens the baler network across a key area.

“The SB range is aimed at high-capacity contractors and farmers, and Ben Burgess is ideally located to support its larger customers using these machines.

Case IH Axial-Flow® combines can now be equipped with new G500V VariCut variable knife grain headers.

The seven G500V models span 6.1-12.5m (20-41ft) working widths, each with a knife that can be moved across a 575mm fore/aft range to ensure consistent crop flow in all crop types and conditions.

Wider models feature new hydraulically- operated gauge wheels that can be switched from the cab between transport and field mode, making it unnecessary to manually raise the wheels before loading the header on its trailer. (De)coupling time is minimised thanks to connections grouped on the left-hand side only, and a single PTO.

New VariCut headers feature inline knife drive, with fully-linear output shaft motion, for smooth operation with minimal vibration.

The Pöttinger Novacat F 3100 Opticurve front mower was launched in 2024. Now the front mower, which won an AgrarTec Gold medal, has received a decisive upgrade: In the coming season, it will be available with the Profiline comfort control system as an option.

With the Profiline comfort control system, the mower steers left and right automatically depending on the turning angle of the tractor and the inclination of the slope. The information needed to do this is provided by an acceleration sensor installed directly on the mower. By including the tractor's turning angle signal, the accuracy of the calculation increases even further.

The mower is controlled either using the tractor's ISOBUS terminal or a SELECT CONTROL terminal. Hydraulic oil is supplied by a load-sensing or power beyond system.

Case IH provides backing for Europe’s largest working potato machinery technical demonstration / Supplies tractor fleet to power implements and haul trailers.

Case IH is to again be the exclusive sponsor of PotatoEurope, the continent’s largest field demonstration of equipment for the potato sector, marking the 17th year it has supplied the demonstration’s tractor power.

The event takes place on Wednesday/Thursday September 3-4, just 60km from Amsterdam in one of the Netherlands’ most important potato growing regions. The venue is Wageningen University, Lelystad, and online registration at www.potatoeurope.nl entitles visitors to free entrance, parking and a show guide.

A fleet of 20 Case IH Puma and Maxxum tractors will be powering the equipment on the plots. They will demonstrate the value of features such as the CVX continuously-variable transmission in providing the best combination of engine and forward speed

for maximum efficiency during precision potato field tasks.

Nottinghamshire vegetable grower T Hammond Farms is celebrating 125 years in business and has chosen to update its fleet with a new Fendt 620 Vario from dealer B&B Tractors.

Co directors Jon and Andy Hammond are the fourth generation at New Farm, near Nottingham. The family started farming in 1900 and has always specialised in vegetables.

“We recently bought our 50th Fendt tractor from B&B, having bought our first in 2000. The farm has grown from 1100 acres to 2750 acres in 25 years and we have only added two members of staff, which is testament to how technology is improving farming efficiencies,” says Andy Hammond.

The business grows potatoes, parsnips, carrots, beetroot, brassicas, rhubarb and squash along with cereal, maize and oil seed r**e crops. 10 Fendt tractors make up the fleet that cultivates, plants and harvests the crops.

Wavy Wood Sawmill is an independent sawmilling business that was set up by Nick Garton. Before Wavy Wood Sawmill, Nick ran a groundwork business. He also produced and sold firewood, with timber locally sourced from FSC-approved plantations, which he still does, alongside the sawmilling.

Nick became interested in sawmilling after realising he could profit from finished and milled timer – rather than just selling firewood.

He researched different sawmill models and brands – and came across Global Machinery Solutions, who he called – and spoke to Technical Consultant, Andy Dudley. Nick decided to invest in the Frontier OS27 due to its capabilities yet affordable price.

He then started milling logs – again locally and sustainably sourced – to produce timber for himself and local people who needed fencing materials and bespoke-measured timber for home and building projects.

02/08/2025

The new Fortis LT extends Horsch’s universal cultivator range with a

compact solution for medium-sized farms. The Fortis LT was specifically developed for

standard tractors up to 500 hp and is available in four working widths from 4.60m to 6.75m. The cultivator has the flexibility to be used for shallow tillage to primary soil cultivation at depths of up to 30cm.

The Fortis LT’s robust design considers the increase in tractor powers in recent years, harvest residues or catch crops performance and incorporation quality. The combination of a 4-bar design, a 27cm tine spacing and an 85cm frame height ensures an enormous clearance for working without clogging at a maximum working depth of 30cm. The intensive flow of soil in the machine offers a high mixing quality. The well-proven TerraGrip tine system with large radii on the tine shaft ensures a low horsepower requirement and compared to the proven Fortis AS, the LT is even more compact and shorter.
