Not long left of the river season so I wanted to wish all my piking friends the best of luck in your search for a few nice fish before the rivers close. Hope you manage a few fish and maybe even one of those very special moments.! Also I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been a part of the Riverpiker journey over the years, everyone, you have made it a blast. You might see me on the bank so say hello. If I see you first, I’ll probably walk in the other direction. 😜

New lures arrived today all the way from my sunny Sweden. Big thanks to the guys at Söder Sportfiske for a super service. Ordered Sunday night and arrived Thursday morning, can’t fault that at all. Decided to grab a few different lures from Svartzonker Sweden to mix up my collection. Loving the Svartzonker Tail Junior they look superb. Slow sink tailbaits are always a killer lure and my bag is missing decent tailbaits at the minute. Swift hour this evening and bagged two jacks so that’s not bad going. From Sweden to catching uk pike in less than 5 days.

It’s nearly pike o’clock and that means it’s PAC conference time, and also I’ve started looking back at last years captures for some inspiration for this winter. This was an incredibly long pike from the river. Now I’ve seen people quoting all sorts of weights and lengths on this here internet thingy but you’ll never get anything but the truth from me. I hate people who tell porkies about their fish. I never measured this one so can’t say how long it actually was, all I know was it was a little shorter than the perch I’d just put back.

PAC conference this weekend and Myself and Neil will be there with the Riverpiker shop. We’re looking forward to catching up with some old friends and hopefully meeting a few new. So make sure you come and say hello and we’ll talk fishing and if we can help with anything we will. Shop will have some discount on everything too so you might grab a bargain ready for the upcoming pike season. Also as you can see from the flyer, there’s plenty of other things going on and three top pikers giving a talk about their pike fishing and each one not to be missed. Between them they’ve nearly caught as many big pike as me!!! 🤣🤣 see you all there. 👍

Just to let you know I will be doing the raffle draw tonight. I’ll try to aim for around 6pm as last entry and then maybe go for 6:30 draw. One prize, one winner from a random number generator live!

Many, many, many thanks to everyone who has donated for the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge which I will be doing this Saturday. I set myself a target of raising £1000 and tonight I reached that goal. As a group we’re well over our £5000 target and pushing £6k for muscular dystrophy, all in memory of our friend Simon. The hard work is now just to actually complete the walk. The weather forecast is bang on for Saturday so it will be a doddle, wven if my knee is knackered I don’t care. Once again thank you all. Thank you thank you!
