Sometimes my TV doesn't even pick up TV and gives me interesting pixelated art instead. Prompted me to make a quick video to go with this music I jammed out today, mainly as a tribute to William Orbit who passed away earlier this week.

A few days ago I posted this on instagram. Question is, can you name the film the melody is taken from?

Getting pretty hot under the rafters! Been doing a bit of repositioning. A new synth wall means I won't tie myself up in octopus knots playing multiple synths all the time. Acoustics are pretty good with the slanted ceiling, but some extra acoustic treatment would help. Back to tracking and mixing, with a new project starting this week.

Campanella 3 by Howard Skempton. Possibly one of my favourite living British composers, a student of Cornelius Cardew and founding member of the Scratch Orchestra. 'Campanella' means 'Small Bell' and is one of many short pieces Skempton has written for piano. Composed in 1982 and typically minimalist in style it seemed apt to perform it on the Roland Juno 6 which came out the very same year. Enjoy!

ARP Odyssey meets Korg LAMBDA Polyphonic Ensemble ES-50

23/06/2026

Jam/song in progress. Playing Arp Odyssey (Korg reissue, hence some clumsy finger work on those mini keys!) Also the Korg LAMBDA Polyphonic Ensemble ES-50 from 1979. Love playing around with sample and hold function on the Odyssey, very dystopian sounding especially when using some pink noise. Lambda is almost the exact opposite. Lush, warm strings and chorus pads together with a bright and clear tuned percussion section. Their individual distinctive quirks seem to compliment each other I find. The rhythm section is a Roland CR-78. Sadly not the real thing but Logic's own virtual instrument.
