Most people visit Dover Castle for the views, the walls and its incredible history… but there’s another side of this fortress hidden below ground. 🏰

I headed down into the historic passages beneath Dover Castle, where the atmosphere changes completely.

These underground chambers witnessed some remarkable moments in British history - and standing there today, it’s easy to imagine the people who once passed through them.

A side of Dover Castle you definitely won’t see from the outside.

Hidden underground, we explored what was once a German military hospital. Rooms that have remained untouched for decades, each one holding its own story from one of history’s darkest chapters.

Imagine discovering that a WWII air raid shelter is sitting directly underneath your home… and you never even knew it was there. 😳

These shelters are still hidden beneath houses across Britain, with many residents completely unaware of the history beneath their feet.

There’s something strangely powerful about finding little pieces of history like this.

Inside a Second World War bunker in France, I came across this drawing of a German soldier, believed to have been drawn by German troops stationed here.

Decades later, this simple sketch is still here, quietly telling its own story.

History isn’t always found in museums… sometimes it’s left behind on the walls. 🇩🇪
