On this Wednesday’s Transmission on City Sound from 8pm, Paul Dupree’s guests will be Joe Harvey of The Hardy Perennials who will be in to discuss the upcoming Withered Hand gig at Hot Box, and we may even be able to persuade him to play a song himself….

After 9, we will welcome up and coming singer/songwriter Oli Bruce, who will be playing some of his own original songs live in the studio.

New music includes the latest from The Groovy Arts Club Band, Soulwax, Cutaways and Wolf Alice, and after 10 there’ll be more memories from the last 10 years of Transmission from the likes of Nicola Collis, Gavin Bowern, QUBIK and Generation Feral.

There are very few artists around at the moment who can effortlessly combine genuine pop with the issues of modern life, and given a healthy dose of indie sensibility. So George Erith’s work comes as a breath of fresh air in that respect.

His live acoustic set on the Transmission show last week was a station highlight, and points to much bigger things for the future.

Catch George live at the Shacklewell Arms in London on the 12th.

His latest release concerns one of every Summer’s biggest enigmas, the Mosquito.

The next City Sound event is at Hot Box this Friday when the Ovation team take on Disney with the help of some great guest performers.

Every Disney anthem you've ever sung out loud in the shower will be played or sung on the night.

The Black Chapel Collective is an Essex-based group of electronic artists, DJs, musicians, poets, and rappers, led by producer and songwriter Steve Mortimer, and who explore themes of climate change, gender equality, and social justice through creative projects. This next year will be the leadup to a concert in April called reConnect, the full version of the audio/visual project exploring the overlap between science, arts, and spirituality that was originally conceived for 2020, but was instead adapted into a film due to pandemic restrictions.

This is the first song to be released from the project featuring Steve’s son Safenath.
