Tomorrow, City Sound will be at Colchester Institute recording live performances from bands on the Level 3 Music Performance and Production courses.

We’ll be capturing live sessions and showcasing the incredible talent coming through the local music scene.

If you’ve listened to City Sound before, some of the names might already be familiar. Tyler Baker, Hot Rats, Doll Face and Project Osiris have all featured on City Sound in some capacity – and they all started their journey at Colchester Institute!

That’s why we’re so excited to visit and record even more emerging talent for your listening ears. Who knows? Your next favourite band could be waiting in the wings.

We’ll be welcoming members of Chelmsford Theatre Workshop to the studio to chat about their upcoming production of A Mirror, coming to The Old Court Theatre from 23rd–27th June.

We’ll also be joined by the team from Firebirds, who’ll be telling us all about their production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, heading to Brentwood Theatre from 24th–27th June.

Expect behind-the-scenes stories, cast insights, plenty of theatre chat and everything you need to know before the curtain goes up.

This week, we’re joined by the team from Essex Therapy Dogs 🐾 🐶

Founded to bring comfort, companionship and a smile to those who need it most, Essex Therapy Dogs visit hospitals, care homes, schools, mental health units, Southend Airport, the Justice Centre and more across the county.

Joining us in the studio will be Founder and Chair of Trustees, Julie, alongside Mandy Johnson and the charity’s four-legged ambassador Merlin, a Golden Retriever who has even starred in a video at Broomfield Hospital helping young children prepare for operations.
