48hrs wrapped in the deep quiet of the Herefordshire countryside staying at beautiful Kaya Rural Stays - what a tonic that was. On site, there are two cabins, for 2 adults: Sky House and Pumla; both sit in acres of wildflower meadows with expansive views over the hills and fields beyond.
Our cabin, Sky House, (yes, it looks like a yurt but is much more solid than that), had everything we needed to kick back and mute the outside world for a bit. A neat and well-equipped kitchen, a noiseless bedroom with an uninterrupted vista, a proper bathroom with an outdoor shower… books, games, outdoor blankets and cushions and lots of little treats scattered throughout (thanks for the local apple juice and freshly-picked flowers, guys).
We spent 2 days hopping between lazy coffees and dozing on the deck, watching the butterflies and moths dance around the wildflowers, reading under the cool of a nearby oak tree, and sipping bubbles in the night air as the stars came out. If only all weekends could be like this, right? BTW, Kaya has a few weekends still free if you fancy life looking like this for a bit?
