Start-Up Surrey is back, offering FREE, fully funded support to Surrey residents thinking about starting a business — as well as businesses less than 12 months old.
Around 120 budding entrepreneurs and new businesses are expected to benefit, with support including:
💡 One-to-one business mentoring
🛠️ Practical workshops
🎓 Specialist masterclasses
🤝 Advice to help you develop and grow your idea
The programme is funded by Surrey County Council and runs until March 2027.
So whether it’s a side-hustle you’d like to turn into something bigger, a business idea that’s been sitting in your head for years, or you’ve recently taken the plunge — it could be worth a look.

The Surrey Artist of the Year 2026 exhibition is at New Ashgate Gallery, showcasing work from talented artists from across the county — and entry is FREE! Public voting continues until 23 October.

💷 £170,000+ BOOST FOR SURREY HEATH COMMUNITIES

Some good local news for Camberley, Frimley, Mytchett, Chobham, Bisley and surrounding communities. 🙌
More than £170,000 is being invested in local projects across Surrey Heath — with the money going into facilities that people actually use every day.
Projects include:
🛝 New and improved children's play equipment
🏀 £25,000 to resurface the multi-use games area at Old Dean Recreation Ground
🏘️ Improvements to community buildings
♿ Accessibility upgrades in Mytchett and Camberley
☀️ Solar panels to help community facilities reduce energy costs
📹 New CCTV and other local improvements
The funding comes from the Community Infrastructure Levy — money collected from developers and reinvested into local infrastructure and community projects.
It means improvements to parks, play areas, sports facilities and community spaces right across the borough.
Always good to see money coming back into the communities where it was generated. 👏

☀️ MONDAY: Looking dry, bright and remarkably warm for late September — mid-20s possible from Egham and Esher to Reigate and Farnham. Sunglasses back out! 😎
🌤️ TUESDAY: Some early cloud or mist possible, then brighter with sunny spells. Still warm at around 22–24°C across Surrey.
☀️ WEDNESDAY: Still looking largely dry with sunny spells, but turning fresher at around 20°C.
So apparently Surrey's autumn has been delayed due to unexpected summer maintenance. 😂🍂☀️

Surrey has some rather adorable new residents… although apparently they’ve actually lived here before! 😂
Water voles are returning to the River Wey after becoming locally extinct, with 30 of the nationally endangered little mammals just released at Thundry Meadows near Elstead.
And they're not alone — around 300 water voles have been raised for release this September at sites between Frensham and Elstead. 🌿💦
So if you're wandering beside the River Wey and hear a little plop…
🐭 It might just be one of Surrey's newest — and oldest — residents moving back into the neighbourhood.
