The National Literacy Trust reports that children reading for pleasure is at an all-time low. As an organisation, we are passionate about promoting literacy and encouraging a love reading in children. Our Lela Initiative team is working hard behind the scenes to be ready for @park_fair next weekend. Here is a sneak peek at what author/illustrator @sarah_hutchinson_jarman has been up to today. Sarah will be on hand all weekend to lead some fun storytelling sessions alongside author Suzy Elliott as well as manning our stall, so do pop by and pick up lots of our beautiful books. A reminder that when you buy a book from us at Park Fair (or one of our books from our website or stockists), you are also gifting a book to our library projects in Uganda. Sarah has also been making up some jewellery to add to our gifts section - our range of gift are either made by the communities we work with in Uganda or alternatively raise money for them. Proceeds from Sarah's jewellery will support our new library project. We can't wait to see you at the event... do stop by.
