Did you catch our feature on how farmers can come out on top?

Our CEO, Andy Howard , spoke with Farm Diversity about the recent Autumn Budget and its potential impacts on farmers, particularly SMEs. He highlighted how Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) offers valuable opportunities for rural enterprises amidst these changes.

Key points to note:
🔹 Agricultural Property Relief (APR): From April 2025, land under environmental agreements, such as BNG, will qualify for APR.
🔹 Changes to APR in 2026: From April 2026, APR will be reduced to 50% for agricultural and business assets exceeding £1 million, significantly impacting Inheritance Tax (IHT) planning.
🔹 Benefits of BNG: BNG projects can provide flexibility and income for landowners, supporting both succession planning and the management of tax liabilities.

BNG could play a vital role in helping rural businesses diversify and manage risks while contributing to sustainable and environmentally friendly land management.
