My clients hate it when I say this.....

"If you always do what you have always done, you'll always get what you've always got"

Henry Ford knew what he was saying when he said this.

So what do I mean but this?

If you employ the same actions, you will always generate the same results. So maybe it's time to make a change, but often that's easier said than done.

You need confidence to make a change, you need knowledge to know what to do next, and you need feedback to understand why something did or did not work, thereby helping you to make more changes.

This is exactly what I offer with the Social Media Game Changers, an interactive group that meets every month to learn and support each other and make that step change when it comes to creating your own social media.

I totally understand that not everyone has the budget to employ my team and me to manage their social media; however, by joining the social media game changers, you have access to us every month via Zoom and via a WhatsApp group every day.

Your own social media advisor in your pocket!

Creating content shouldn’t feel like a full-time job.

If it’s overwhelming or eating up your time, it’s time to simplify.

Here are five easy ways to stay consistent without overthinking or overcreating

1ļø Use carousels to share value
Educate, explain, or tell a simple story. One idea, broken into slides = done.

2ļø Stop over-polishing your reels
Talking to camera, behind-the-scenes, or quick clips work just fine. Progress > perfection.

3ļø Lean on stories to stay visible
They don’t need to be pretty or planned. Showing up beats showing off.

4ļø Repurpose one idea everywhere
Turn one topic into a post, a reel, and a few stories. Work smarter, not harder.

5ļø Repeat what already works
You don’t need new ideas every week. Consistency comes from repetition, not reinvention.

Remember: consistency will always beat complexity.

Save this for later or share it with someone who’s overthinking their content.

Follow our 5 easy wins to kick-start your 2026 social media algorithm.

These trends will really matter for small and medium sized businesses, especially those in sport, hospitality, property and lifestyle sectors.

āž”ļø Video is still king.

Short, helpful, real video continues to outperform across platforms.

āž”ļø AI becomes mainstream, but humans still win.

AI will save time, but personality and authenticity remain the differentiator.

āž”ļø Series content beats one-off posts.

Regular themes and formats help audiences recognise you and come back for more.

āž”ļø Community over virality.

Engagement, replies and conversations will matter more than chasing big numbers. It's all about starting those important conversations.

āž”ļø Social media as search.

People increasingly search Instagram and TikTok for recommendations, not Google.

The biggest shift is not doing more, but doing things with more intention.

Which trend will you focus on first in 2026?

As the year draws to a close, I have been reflecting on just how much we have packed into it.

This year we welcomed new team members, and a huge thank you to Poppy and Courtney for your support, ideas and energy as we look ahead to growing even further next year.

We have had the privilege of working with an incredibly varied mix of clients including property businesses, padel companies and clubs, beauty services, luxury glamping sites, community campaigns, boutique hotels and gastro pubs.

Alongside ongoing social media management, we have delivered social media audits to help businesses review what they are doing and why, and developed full social media strategies for both a theatre and a university.

I am really looking forward to onboarding two new clients in the New Year and continuing the great work we are already doing.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted Social Honeycomb this year.

As we are well into the Christmas and New Year season, I wanted to wish all my followers, clients and the wider Social Honeycomb team a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

I am always curious at this time of year…

Do you properly step away from social media over the holidays, or do you keep ticking along in the background?

There is no right or wrong answer. Some businesses thrive by staying visible, others benefit hugely from pressing pause.

I would love to know what you do and why. Comment below or send me a DM.

Confession time.

I have been a little quieter on here recently and I owe you an explanation.

I have done exactly what I help so many of my clients avoid doing… I got bogged down in exciting new projects, brilliant new clients and plans for the year ahead, and my own social media slipped right to the bottom of the to-do list.

It is a familiar story for many business owners. Client work comes first, ideas pile up, and suddenly you realise weeks have passed.

Normal service will resume shortly, but if this has happened to you too, consider this your reminder that you are not failing. You are busy building.

Birthdays, goodbyes and a big award win.

Thank you to everyone who voted for us in The Cotswolds Awards 2025. Being nominated was exciting on its own, but winning Social Media Professional of the Year means a huge amount, especially with such strong talent in the mix

A heartfelt thank you to my brilliant team, the businesses who trust us with their social media, and the many business owners who share their support, guidance and encouragement. I’m incredibly grateful Xx

I had forgotten how much fun an industry trade show could be.

Many moons ago when I was a buyer and manufacturer in the ski industry I used to love travelling to different parts of the world for industry events, either selling to businesses or buying from them. One was so big we used to rollerblade around it in order to get to our meetings on time. 🤣 šŸ›¼

So it was exciting to be at the first UK Padel Convention last week and talking to so many incredible people and businesses who are helping grow the sport of padel here in the UK.

I loved meeting up with existing clients face to face, chatting about the social media management and consulting services we provide to some potential new ones and discussing plans for 2026 with some of the influencers and collaborators I am working with in 2026.

Thank you for hosting the event and hopefully it is the first of many to come.

Ever feel a bit silly filming bits of your day? Honestly, it’s one of the best habits you can build for your business.

You never know when that clip of a coffee chat, a walk through a venue, a behind-the-scenes moment or a quick photo from a meeting will come in handy.

These were just some of the clips I took from yesterdays meeting where we heard more about Gloucestershire, an exciting new platform bringing the larger businesses of the Cotswolds closer to the smaller ones.

Back to the point of this post, having a bank of content to dip into makes creating reels, posts and stories so much easier, especially on the days when inspiration is nowhere to be seen.

Capture it now, use it later. It all adds up to a richer, more authentic story about who you are and what you do.

Are you someone who is always taking pics and videos or are you someone that always wishes you had??

Last night's LinkedIn workshop with Cirencester Chamber of Commerce exceeded expectations!

I had the pleasure of presenting to around 40 Gloucestershire business owners on how to leverage LinkedIn for business growth.

We covered the fundamentals that actually make a difference: building a profile that converts, creating content that resonates with your ideal customers, and why consistency matters more than quick wins. LinkedIn success really is a marathon, not a sprint.

The Q&A session was brilliant. Business owners asked thoughtful questions about the practical challenges they're facing, including adapting LinkedIn strategies for charities, navigating the AI content debate, choosing between personal profiles and company pages, and breaking out of echo chambers to reach genuine prospects rather than just peers.

A special thank you to Christine Coombes of Africawetravel for sharing the stage.

As Howard Burr perfectly put it, one of us helps you make money on LinkedIn, the other helps you spend it on unforgettable African adventures! šŸ˜‚

Thank you, Cirencester Chamber of Commerce, for the opportunity to chat with the local business community.
