What do you think about the look of the brand new $350 million Superyacht ‘Project Cosmos’?

Project Cosmos is a 114.2-metre Lürssen build designed by Marc Newson, coming in at around 6,300 GT with a steel hull and sharp, glass-heavy exterior lines.

She’s fitted with a methanol-powered fuel-cell system alongside its conventional engines, giving it the ability to operate in a low-emission, silent mode for extended periods. Standout features include the bow-mounted glass observation dome, large aft deck with pool and whirlpool bath, and extensive guest and crew accommodations across multiple decks.

The reported cost is about $350 million, placing it among the most advanced and expensive yachts on the water.

The 141m Superyacht ‘Yas’ looks less like a yacht and more like something that slipped out of a sci-fi film.

Her profile is long, low and impossibly smooth, deliberately sculpted to resemble a dolphin, which is why she’s one of the most recognisable silhouettes in the entire superyacht world.

She didn’t begin life in luxury at all, she started as HNLMS Piet Hein, a Dutch Navy frigate built in the Netherlands before being acquired and transformed at ADM Shipyards in Abu Dhabi.

The rebuild was one of the most radical yacht conversions ever attempted, with estimates placing the total project cost well into the hundreds of millions.

The original military hull was kept for its strength and efficiency, but everything above it was redesigned into a futuristic superstructure that genuinely looks like a spacecraft gliding across the water.

Yas is proof that with enough vision, engineering and money, even a warship can be reborn as something other-worldly.
