As we reflect on 2025, weโre filled with pride and gratitude that made this year special. Hereโs a look back at some of the event highlights that brought our community together:
โค๏ธWe were feeling the love in February at our Love Your Town events in Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Immingham. Featuring live performances, walking trails, pop up markets and installations centred around the theme of love and wellbeing. Look out for our 2026 events and support them with pride!
๐คElla Henderson performed her much anticipated โHomecomingโ show to a capacity crowd at the Meridian Showground in Cleethorpes. It was a huge event marking her return to her roots after a decade, with sold-out crowds and support from Jax Jones and local artists, celebrating her deep connection to the seaside town where she grew up.
๐Festival of the Sea sailed back into Grimsby in June celebrating what makes the town great, the townโs heritage and its future relationship with the sea. Lots of families enjoyed the fantastic fun and activities!
๐ฅโ๏ธIt was a great summer, and the resort was very busy during the year with lots of events including DocksFest, The Gathering, the Great Grub Fest, the International Market and the annual โ๏ธArmed Forces weekend, including the Cleethorpes Carnival. Thousands of locals and visitors were treated to a fantastic display by the iconic Red Arrows. How lucky were we?
๐Heritage Open Days celebrated our local heritage with a variety of events across North East Lincolnshire including tours and talks, special exhibitions and places open for the public including Grim's Great Time-Travellers event, and earlier in May, it was Grim's Great Viking Village immersive screen experience, with Grimโs Great Jorvik Saga in November, all continuing the legacy of Grim the Viking and showing strong community interest in its Norse past.
๐Our year concluded with Great Grimsby's Christmas Festival and the Cleethorpes Lights Switch on with festive fun for everyone โ even the Grinch had fun! The inaugural Grimsby Christmas Village took place at Riverhead Square, featuring cute wooden cabins full of local makers, artists and foodies, mulled wine, music, and a Scandinavian Tee P*e. Everyone loved it!
๐Thank you to everyone who contributed to these amazing moments โ our businesses, our community and our visitors who make North East Lincolnshire such a special place to be!
