We have been cutting huge bunches of statice from the field over the last few days - statice is a wonderful filler flower in fresh arrangements BUT it comes into its own as a dried flower for dried bouquets and floral crafts 💐

We dry hundreds of stems each year, and these are used in our dried flower workshops in the autumn and early spring.

The farm is really struggling this year, due to lack of rain and the back-to-back heatwaves. 🥵

Availability is very limited right now, with some plants lagging behind or some that have been over and done in a flash (much earlier than their natural season)!

Dahlias will be here soon, but at the moment all we have are snapdragons 🫣 these will be available from next week as mixed colour bunches so keep an eye out for them 😊

If Severn Trent call a hosepipe ban, then that may signal the end of our season for 2025! So let’s keep everything crossed for at least ‘some’ rain 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Most of these have been grown for drying, but you may still spot them occasionally being used fresh in our bouquets 💐

It was a very warm afternoon in the barn space, but The Elm Tree at Elmton kept everyone hydrated whilst we worked🍹🥂🍷🍺😄
