COATBRIDGE ALERT ⚠️ SERIAL RA**ST MAY BE RELEASED THIS WEEK

In 2019, Gerard Porteous, a 59-year-old man from Paisley, was sentenced to life in prison for a series of heinous sexual offenses committed over a span of more than three decades.

He is serving a life sentence but is allegedly eligible for parole on the 15th May 2026 and may be released from prison!

The crimes, which include r**e, assault, and indecent assault, were carried out against multiple women, with some victims enduring prolonged periods of abuse.

One of the victims, who bravely came forward to report the abuse, suffered sustained attacks over a period of six years.

In 2016, he received a 12-year prison sentence after being convicted of sexual offenses involving three women in Airdrie and Paisley, with incidents dating from 1994 to 2013.

Most recently, in 2018, Porteous was convicted of multiple counts of r**e, assault, and indecent assault related to two women he abused during the 1980s and 1990s.

* Emergency services attended and the 51-year-old man was pronounced dead. His family is aware and being supported by officers.
The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
