Part 5 and we’re finally making it look built in!

Who knew a simple worktop could make such a difference? I’ve added a custom top across the cabinets and suddenly my little coffee corner is starting to feel properly bespoke.

Huge thank you to Paul at Kitchen Worktop Shop, 89 Barrack St, Colchester, a brilliant one man local business who cut the worktop to exactly the right depth for me. He had an amazing selection and some great off cuts for projects too.

Can’t wait to show you the finished space ☕️

HOW TO PAINT IKEA FURNITURE - Dining room makeover part 4. We already had these two cupboards and want to use them under the counter of our new coffee bar. I always prime with Shellac primer and then this time used Eggshell in the shade Pale Storm. Great coverage and I like the soft sheen finish. Really love the little handles I found from too. Next comes the counter top and I think I’ve found something PERFECT! So stay tuned

Did you know this isn’t wallpaper? - Dining Room makeover Part 3.
I actually hand painted it but now we’ve replaced the old radiator it’s exposed the big area I never painted 🫣🫣🫣
Time to sort that out and finish the design.
Colours are Sail White & Mustard Jar by *prev Ad and the new radiator is the Double oval vertical radiator from *prev pr product

There’s nothing harder than anticipatory grief for a pet! I talked about anticipatory grief with the vet this week. She agreed she feels it too with her own pet, especially as they reach these later years. This last few months as Gus has been poorly and I’ve seen a real shift from the energetic, happy dog he used to be I’ve felt it more than ever. It’s the hardest part of owning a dog knowing they won’t be here forever BUT he’s still cracking on, making me smile and giving great snuggles and seems to be slowly recovering from the vestibular episode so we’re taking each day atm.

AD I wish I’d never got a video doorbell… because now my boyfriend can see every charity shop parcel arriving 👀

How we maximised space in our dining room makeover. Removing our old long radiator and replacing with a vertical one has been a game changer. We chose the White Double Oval Vertical radiator and matching valves from *ad pr product. It is so much more efficient heat wise, as well as freeing up a bunch of space on the wall for our future coffee bar plans. So happy we made the switch. I’ve linked the one we picked on my stories.
Stay tuned for the next part where I have to fix all the wallpaper that was hiding behind the old radiator 😆 and repaint my wall design.
