Hadestown brings mythology, music and magic to The MAC Belfast 🎭

We were delighted to be invited along to today’s final matinee of Belfast School Of Performing Arts Hadestown, watching Team Olympus take to the stage.

Our Daniel was in his element proclaiming “It was absolutely incredible, I don’t say this lightly but it is possibly the best teen production I’ve EVER seen”

From Brody Elliott and Caitriona McCloskey at the heart of the story, to Alex Johnston, Amy Nelson, Hannah McAlister Colacio, the Fates, Furies, dancers, ensemble and fantastic live Underworld Band, this was a hugely ambitious production delivered with confidence, energy and real heart.

With two casts giving an incredible number of young local performers the opportunity to take part, BSPA deserves enormous credit for creating a platform where emerging talent can shine.

We’ve heard fantastic things about this production, and with a cast packed with young local talent, we can’t wait to see them bring the world of Hadestown to life.

🎭 REVIEW , High Society Musical at The Grand Opera House, Belfast

Tony went in knowing absolutely nothing about High Society and, despite not being a fan of jazz, came out a complete convert! 😂

With stunning costumes, fabulous choreography, fantastic vocals, brilliant performances and a story packed with romance, twists and plenty of laughs, this is one high society gathering you won’t want to miss.

🎭 86 young performers. Two casts. One extraordinary musical.

Belfast School Of Performing Arts are bringing the award winning musical phenomenon Hadestown: Teen Edition to The MAC this summer.

Inspired by the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, this haunting and powerful production features 86 talented performers aged 14 to 19, taking audiences on an unforgettable journey to the Underworld.

With professional experience behind the production, including Assistant Director Adam Gillian, who previously performed as an understudy for Orpheus during Hadestown’s acclaimed run at London’s National Theatre, these young stars are taking on one of contemporary musical theatre’s biggest challenges.

🌈 What an incredible response!

Thousands of nominations have now been submitted for the 10th Annual GNIMAG Awards 2026, and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who has taken the time to recognise the people, businesses and organisations making a difference across our LGBTQIA+ community.

Our team is currently working through each of the 25 award categories, and around 70% of nominee emails have now been sent.
