Show us your panel rebuilds!

There's a lot of satisfaction to be had when rebuilding a panel. Removing a nest of redundant wires and rusty switches to make room for shiny, new equipment is seriously gratifying.

So with tinkering season almost upon us, there will be lots of pilots looking for inspiration. Help them out by leaving your before and after photos in the comments!

We'll start with one of our favourite panel rebuilds of 2025 - a lift-up panel mod and an upgrade to an LX9000 for a Discus.

RESULT! Very nice job yesterday by Matt Davis; 1st in 18m class with the fastest sp*ed of all classes. 🏎️

LXNAV, how do you feel about making a barograph and some camera mounts?

FOCUS - at briefing for today’s tasks. The 18m have a 3hrs AAT and the other two classes have racing tasks 500 km for 20m and 550 for Open class.

Yesterday we had a GPS jamming and spoofing episode that affected scoring for about 20 gliders in the 18m class. Secondary (and other) evidence was used to confirm valid tasks. Phew!

Meet the team: Caelun

Caelun is our latest member of the workshop team, he assists Colin and Jake with maintenance and repairs under supervision. Caelun has been with us since mid-2024, gaining experience in the workshop, whilst he studied mathematics, business, and economics for his A- levels. When not working or studying, Caelun is keen on sports - he has played football since the age of 5 and recently became hooked on rock climbing. He is yet to go gliding but is keenly awaiting an opportunity to go soaring with the Navboys team!
