Christmas is our busiest time, but we still managed this special load on the run up to the big day. The van due to collect toys from St Bede's school for the Norah's North Pole toy appeal broke down, Elddis to the rescue. Happy to support such a great cause

£3,500 was raised for Bowel Cancer UK in memory of the great Mel Spratt at the annual Boxing Day clash.

Experience told when the Codgers took on the Younguns as they contested the Sam Gordon Memorial Trophy, winning 70-44.

A big thank you to all who supported the event and proudly wore the Consett RFC badge.

🎅 Merry Christmas from Consett — where festive magic is real! 🎄

This Christmas, let’s celebrate not just the season but the people who make it meaningful.

One of those people is Leadgate’s Santa Ste — aka Stephen Stonehouse. What started as a quick stop to buy a guitar turned into a decade of joy. From his first borrowed red suit to handmade costumes and a real beard, Santa Ste has brought smiles to hundreds of local families.

This year marks 10 years of his incredible journey — raising money for Willow Burn Hospice and Callie’s Heart Campaign, hosting a charity variety show, and re-releasing his Christmas CD (featuring local teen Layla Naugher 🎶).

Stephen’s story reminds us that kindness, laughter, and love are the real gifts — and they can start from the simplest of moments.
