Some people ride for the destination.

I ride for the quiet.

There’s something about putting on a helmet, starting the engine, and leaving the noise of everyday life behind. For a while, it’s just me, the road, and a chance to reset.

If you ride, you’ll understand. If you don’t, maybe this explains why so many of us keep coming back.

A sizeable part of my work sits within homelessness services, public health and vulnerable communities — filming people who want to tell their story, often after years of not feeling heard.

Over time, I’ve realised that how we film matters just as much as what we film.

For some contributors, sitting in front of a camera can feel exposing, intimidating or emotionally difficult. That’s why I’ve become increasingly intentional about creating calm, respectful and psychologically safe filming environments where people feel in control of their story.

This poster is really a reflection of that approach.

Less “content creation”.
More human-centred storytelling.

Smaller crews. More listening. Less pressure. More dignity.

Some of the most powerful stories I’ve ever captured will never be seen publicly — but they’ve reinforced just how important ethical filmmaking can be when working with people who have experienced trauma, exclusion or hardship.

Stories have the power to create change.

But only if they’re told with care.
