The best snorkelling in Cornwall isn’t a location, it’s understanding the sea.

Heres a few of the most common Cornwall snorkelling questions I get asked.

Short answer: there’s no perfect spot, wildlife does its own thing, and half the magic is just getting in the water.

I am always down to answer your questions to the best of my ability but honestly it’s just about getting out there and getting started. There’s no right or wrong when exploring the ocean 🌊

Ahead of World Ocean Day, I was honoured to be invited to The Ocean Briefing event at Kanaloa House by , and .ocean.

It was an evening filled with hope, bringing together marine scientists, campaigners, storytellers and creators to explore how we can bring ocean issues into everyday conversations.

I was particularly inspired by hearing from James Blunt on the importance of ocean protection, and from legend , whose work documenting coral spawning offers a powerful reminder of both the beauty and fragility of our marine ecosystems.

What stayed with me most was the sense that no one voice can solve these challenges alone. But together, as scientists, charities, creators, businesses and communities, we can help shift the conversation and inspire action.

The ocean regulates our climate, feeds billions of people and sustains life on Earth. As we head into World Ocean Day, perhaps the most important thing we can do is keep talking about it.

Because what people care about, they protect. 🌊💙

Pembrokeshire photo dump.

I loved our recent weekend trip to Pembrokeshire in Wales, two ocean fueled days including a visit to Skomer island to meet the puffins and local seals. Sunday spent exploring the coast, including checking out St Govan’s chapel 🌊

Falmouth has been shaped by the sea for centuries, and this visit to the really brings those stories to life.

Right in one of Britain’s most important historic ports, the museum dives into Falmouth’s maritime past through its incredible small boat collection, vessels that reflect trade, exploration, fishing, and everyday life on the water across different eras and countries.

Alongside that rich history, there’s a surprisingly strange side to the collection too: sawfish saws, shark teeth, taxidermy, and old “ocean remedies” like turtle oil, a reminder of how people once tried to make sense of the sea.

A stop at the Waterside Café gave us a breather with sweeping harbour views, before heading down to the underwater viewing area, peering 4.5 metres beneath the surface into Falmouth Bay.

We finished with the life-size basking shark sculpture that was there as part of May half term. A tribute to Cornwall’s marine life and the scale of the ocean that surrounds it.

A place where maritime history, coastal culture, and the living sea all come together in one visit.
