In case you missed my last post, I’ve recently relocated to Leicester…hence why my IG handle has changed from Cornish Maid by the Sea to Cornish Maid in the Midlands.

Why would you leave Cornwall? I hear you ask. Honestly? Last winter was bleak. I was living alone in the middle of nowhere and I swear it rained every day. I enjoyed wrapping up warm for a beach walk and spending evenings by the wood burner. But, the truth is, I was lonely. I felt isolated. I felt I didn’t belong, like something was off.

My old salary was barely covering my living costs and unfortunately Cornwall’s salaries and living costs just don’t match up in general. I was just about ok when I was teaching, but marketing and creative salaries in Cornwall made it impossible to live alone.

I’ve managed to secure myself an amazing new role which, not only is a four-day week for more money than I was on for a five-day week in Cornwall, it’s a 28-hour week instead of 40, with 1-hour lunch breaks, flexible working (half the week from home) and tons of benefits. I’m so excited to develop my career.

My amazing new job, combined with the cheaper living costs here mean I can finally start living. I can afford to treat myself to theatre trips, brunches, coffee and cake, gym memberships, music events…whatever I fancy.

The best part? I can use Fridays to go for my swim and sauna, a yoga class, a long walk and use the time to work on my business, which I’ve neglected a little recently, but is still ticking along in the background.

I’m meeting new people but also getting comfortable doing things solo. I’m excited for what the future could bring. Everything is gradually aligning and I feel like I’m in the right place.

For those who were here for the Cornwall content, I’ll still be going back to visit family, plus I have a massive back catalogue of Cornwall based photos.

I hope my followers, old and new, will enjoy coming along with me on this journey.

I was fortunate to spend some lovely days with family over Easter, enjoying Cornwall’s beaches, sunshine (and cold wind!), with lots of good food, laughter and Cornish Rattler.

It was lovely to spend time in my home county before my big move to the midlands!

For now, I’m swapping the Cornish coast and countryside for the bustling streets, beautiful parks and canals of Leicester! I’m currently pursuing a new career opportunity, as well as continuing to work on my business and making the most of living somewhere where there’s more going on.

Those who have been following me for a while, I’ll always love Cornwall (being Cornish born and bred) but really struggled during the bleak winter, with constant storms, wind and rain and not a lot to do while living in the middle of nowhere.

I’ll miss my wood burner and the coastal breeze but I’m excited to take on new challenges and adventures and see where life takes me next.

And of course, I’ll always be back in Cornwall visiting family and friends.

This weekend was the end of January and the beginning of February.

It feels good to reflect on the successes and progress made during the last 31 days and look forward to the exciting things to come.

January: a month of reflection, new beginnings and growth.

The weather has been wild, but during the sunshine in between, I’ve been out and about on the coast path.

Every day I’m learning, challenging myself, my confidence is growing and my business is thriving.

Here’s to the next 11 months šŸ’•

You book one or two holidays, a few days off for family meet-ups, maybe time for a friend’s wedding or birthday celebration…

Or perhaps all your annual leave is based around your children’s school holidays, and there’s just not enough days to stretch?!

The 9-5 life just doesn’t work.

20 days plus bank holidays is nowhere near enough.

If you don’t want to spend the rest of your life asking your boss to approve your holiday before it’s booked, it might be time to start thinking about setting up your own online business.

DM ā€˜time’ to find out how you can finally take the reins.

Are you fed up in your current situation?
Do you want to dedicate your time to building something for yourself, rather than just working your butt off to make money for someone else?

2026 could be the year you make a change.
It could be the year you finally say, screw it, I choose a different path.

DM me CHANGE to find out more about an online business opportunity with uncapped earning potential and opportunity for building financial freedom and creating generational wealth.

Warning: this is not a get rich quick scheme, this requires effort, determination and consistency…but you could also change the trajectory of your life in unrecognisable ways.
