Our piggies 🐷🐷🐷

We bought our first pigs in May 2023 they are all pure bred Berkshire, a rare breed.

We use to be large commercial pig farmers but that didn’t align with our values.

We now cross breed a few of them to get better pork as although a fabulous breed they are very fatty.

They live an indoor outdoor lifestyle and we have plans next summer to move them into the fields 🤞

Like our sheep and cows our pigs are vaccine and antibiotic free 🐷

They love the brewers grains from Jazz BrewCo and all the windfall apples you keep kindly giving us 🍎🍏

Some of our lovely ladies 🐑🐑🐑

🐑All our ewes (female sheep that have had a lamb) have been bred by us - how special is it to have generations of that sheep.

🐑Some of them do have names too … theres quite a few hand reared ones that have been pet lambs too. (Much to Bens annoyance as their usually the naughty ones)

🐑Our sheep live on the slopes of the Yorkshire Wolds in what is classed as ‘low input grasslands’ meaning they won’t have any chemicals or artifical fertiliser applied. It’s just grass!

🐑The lambs are also fed just grass, we don’t give them additional feed other than mineral buckets (the orange buckets in the field) to make sure they have everything they need.

🐑The sheep are vaccine free and we only treat with antibiotics as required, but if it’s had antibiotics it’s known to us and will not be used in our shop. Hence we can say our lamb is vaccine / antibiotic free.
