Congratulations to Coughlans Bakery on their one-year anniversary of the opening of their shop in Maidenbower Square. Over three days, they are doing a free raffle with each purchase for a huge amazing cake that concludes today, with the draw taking place this evening.

After a Saturday morning of engaging with residents in Maidenbower, Conservative councillors and campaigners called in to enjoy lunch and coffees.

Today I was pleased to pop into the new Budgens store at Furnace Parade, following their opening last Friday. They will be opening a post office counter in due course and within a fortnight, plan to have takeaway coffees and pastries available too. They have a good variety of food and drink, and plenty of fresh fruit and veg. I wish them every success and hope both they and the revamped Best One next door, are able to thrive.
