A polite reminder for everyone using Tilgate Woods (Parish Lane side/ Pease Pottage)

Recently, we’ve had several incidents in the woods involving cyclists, teenagers messing around, motorbikes, and dogs out of control off lead. Unfortunately, this has already led to a few accidents- thankfully, no one has been seriously hurt.

We’re a friendly bunch, and our horses are generally calm and used to sharing the space. We always do our best to move out of the way and be considerate of others. However, horses are animals and can sometimes spook unexpectedly.

⚠️ A frightened horse can cause serious harm - whether that’s a dog being kicked, a rider falling, or even a larger accident if the horse bolts.

We’d really appreciate it if everyone could be mindful and respectful when out enjoying the forest. Let’s keep Tilgate Woods a safe and enjoyable place for everyone- riders, walkers, cyclists, dogs, and all. 🐴

‼️Urgent Appeal‼️

As many of you know, we’ve always struggled during autumn and winter when visitor numbers drop due to weather. The financial challenges we inherited when we took over have improved, but continue to affect us each year.

Right now, our vets—who have been incredibly supportive over the past year—can’t extend much more credit. We have until the end of October to clear our bill of £6,300.

Many of you will remember Kali, our white-tailed sea eagle, who went missing for 21 days in February. A large part of this bill is from treating her broken toe before that happened.

We completely understand our vets’ position—they’re a business too, and they’ve been more than patient.

We’re asking for your help and support. In return, we’d like to offer

Long shot I know but does anyone recognise the door or did you receive an item yesterday that isn’t for you? The name on the parcel is Natalie Zevka. It is a book which is a gift for my niece and Royal Mail have delivered to the wrong address as this is not my door……
