Ø The wife of Majority Block speaker Richard Koon, Cecelia Koon files an action of divorce at the Civil Law Court citing incompatibility of temper, Adultery and Desertion
The Judge of the Sixth Judicial Circuit, Civil Law Court Kennedy Peabody has issued a writ of summon on Majority Bloc Speaker Richard Koon over an action of Divorce for incompatibility of temper, Adultery and Desertion.
The Judge’s summon was trigged by an action of divorce filed by the wife of Majority Bloc Speaker Koon, Cecelia Kpor Koon citing incompatibility of temper, Adultery and Desertion against Representative Koon.
In the complaint filed before Peabody, Mrs. Koon, a Liberian citizen currently residing in the United States, detailed a series of grievances against her husband.
According to the complaint, the couple married on July 29, 2015, in Wilmington, Delaware, USA, after Koon presented a Liberian divorce decree showing he was no longer married to his previous spouse, Angeline Koon.
Their marriage, initially harmonious, reportedly deteriorated in 2018 when Koon assumed public office, while accusing her husband of abandoning their marital home, engaging in extramarital affairs, and fathering a child with another woman, Gifty Faikai.
She also named Christiana Belloh Tue, a U.S. resident, as another party involved in an alleged affair, further claiming that Tue attempted to sponsor Koon for U.S. citizenship, falsely claiming to be his wife.
The complaint goes on to allege that Representative Koon failed to support his wife financially and denied her access to duplex properties in Maryland, which he allegedly gifted her in a notarized reward letter.
Meanwhile, the Majority Bloc Speaker Koon is yet to response to this latest development.

Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency apprehends 35-year-old Dominic Morlue uncovering a substantial cache of illicit drugs valued at over USD $295,000 which has sent shockwaves through the nation, particularly due to suspect alleged ties to the family of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. favorite son, Tantan Boakai.
3Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) apprehended 35-year-old Dominic Morlue in the Paynesville area on Tuesday, uncovering a substantial cache of illicit drugs valued at over USD $295,000.
The arrest has sent shockwaves through the nation, particularly due to Morlue's alleged ties to the family of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. favorite son Tantan Boakai.
Sources close to the investigation indicate that Morlue is believed to be a close confidant of Tantan Boakai, the president's son.
The relationship between Morlue and the Boakai family has raised eyebrows, especially following reports of a recent public encounter between Morlue and President Boakai at the president's residence.
Witnesses claim to have seen the two men engaged in a cordial handshake, leading to speculation about the nature of their relationship.
While the LDEA has yet to make an official statement regarding Morlue's connections to the first family, the implications of such ties could have significant ramifications for the Boakai administration.
As Morlue remains in state custody, authorities have been tight-lipped about the ongoing investigation.
The LDEA has not confirmed whether they are pursuing further inquiries into the possible involvement of political figures linked to Morlue.
The arrest comes amid heightened scrutiny of drug trafficking and related criminal activities in Liberia.
Advocates for drug policy reform have called for greater transparency and accountability within law enforcement agencies, urging officials to confront the links between drug trade and political corruption.
Critics of the administration have seized upon the situation to question the integrity of the Boakai family, demanding a thorough investigation into any potential connections that could compromise the president's image and authority.
As the story continues to develop, many in Liberia are watching closely to see how the government will respond to these serious allegations and what measures will be taken to address the growing concerns surrounding drug trafficking in the country.
For now, the LDEA's silence leaves a cloud of uncertainty over the administration, raising questions about the influence of drug-related activities on Liberia's political landscape.
