⚠️ SCAM ALERT – Please Read & Share ⚠️
Yesterday I received a text message from a company calling itself “Overdale Enforcement”, claiming I owed £600 and that the matter had been passed to them from a company called Lovell – a company I’ve never dealt with or even heard of.
I rang the number to find out what it was about. Straight away, alarm bells started ringing:
👉They couldn’t tell me who the original creditor was
👉When I said I needed to know who the creditor was so I could contact them directly, I was suddenly told the “debt would be written off”
🚩 Huge red flag.
This morning, I then received another text from the same company, but this time:
👉A different phone number
👉A different reference number
At this point it clearly didn’t feel right, so I Googled Overdale Enforcement. This is what came up:
“‘Overdale Enforcement’ is likely a scam. The real company is a specialist law firm called Overdales Legal Limited, which handles debt recovery. Overdales Legal does not use the name ‘Overdale Enforcement’, and text messages or calls from ‘Overdale Enforcement’ are often fraudulent.”
To make things worse, the messages were quite threatening, claiming enforcement officers would be coming to my house this week — despite the fact they don’t even have my current address, only an old one.
⚠️ Please be careful
If you receive texts or calls like this:
- Don’t panic
- Don’t give out personal or financial information
- Question everything
- Look the company up independently
- If in doubt, ignore and report it
Scams like this rely on fear and urgency. Hopefully this post helps someone else avoid the same situation. 👍
