The Falkland Traditional Music Festival is now in its eleventh year and will continue with its successful programme of ceilidhs, concerts, workshops and a range of traditional music and song competitions. Opening event - a ceilidh dance on Friday 7 August. Saturday 8 August will start at 10am with instrumental workshops, as well as workshops on traditional song followed by an afternoon of competit

ions for fiddle, accordion, traditional song, bothy ballad, instrumental pairs/duets and ceilidh bands - followed by an early evening concert with guests and prize winners. Falkland has some great facilities with suitable venues and halls, four excellent licensed premises, restaurants and cafes and there is limited camping at nearby Pillars of Hercules - a short walk through the Falkland Estate woods.

This GoFundMe for Dick Gaughan, is aiming to reclaim his rights to some of his recorded works and make them available to the public. This fundraiser is needed to raise the legal fees necessary. Every donation helps. It is hoped that it will set a precedent to encourage other musicians to do the same.
