MBEKI MAY BOUNCE BACK AS PRESIDENT

Thabo Mbeki who served as Second President of South Africa after Independence may bounce back as African National Congress (ANC) president.

Mbeki took over from Nelson Mandela a world icon who spent 27 years in prison during the liberation for Independence of South Africa. Mandela run for only on term unsual in Africa and handed over to his Deputy Mbeki at the time.

Mbeki according to local media reports in that country today said he may just bounce back after Cyril Ramaphosa.

The ANC has reportedly announced no confidence for the front runners - Fikile Mbalula, Paul Mashatile, Nomvula Mokonyane and Panyaza Lesufi among others.

ANC is slowly losing popularity. In the last election, it failed to secure the majority forcing it to go into a coalition with the white led DA.

Last week Malawi swore in Prof Peter Mutharika who had lost power in 2020 elections but beat the same person who had won the elections. Prof Mutharika is over 80 years old.

Ghana also had also a former president elected, Donald Trump in the United States among others. Could this be the inspiration for Mbeki?

Farewell Baba Raila Odinga.

A true statesman, whose life was defined by sacrifice, resilience, and the tireless pursuit of justice and democracy.

You taught us what it means to stand for something greater than self — to endure, to hope, and to keep fighting for a better Kenya.

Your legacy will live on in the hearts of millions. Thank you for your service to this nation. Kenya will never forget.

ZAMBIA'S OPPOSITION LEADER SAYS HE HAS HELD A MEETING WITH PRESIDENT CAPT TRAORE

Zambian opposition Leader Fred M'membe says he has held a meeting with President Captain Traore of Burkina Faso.

Dr M'membe who heads the Socialist Party of Zambia has been in Burkina Faso at the invitation of that country.

The Socialist Party Leader has disclosed that the meeting was held on Friday. No pictures have been publicly shared.

Dr. M’membe a celebrated Journalist turned politician is one of the main challenges of President Hakainde Hichilema in the next year's elections.

Below is what Dr M'membe said:

This morning, we had a meeting with Comrade Capt Ibrahim Traore, the President of Burkina Faso, at the Kosyam Palace in Ouagadougou.
President Capt Traore began by thanking us for coming from near and far to guide the youth, exchange ideas, and reflect on ways to give the revolution a lasting foundation.

He emphasized that in the struggle we are engaged in, there are only two camps: that of the oppressors and that of the oppressed. President Capt Traore further stressed that neutrality does not exist in this fight; those who claim to be neutral have either forgotten to turn on their brains or are working, consciously or not, for our enemies.

The President said that the most important achievement in the emancipation struggle we are waging today is the construction of an African consciousness. He thanked those who work tirelessly every day to awaken minds and arm spirits and spread truthful information - reminding everyone that the enemy never gets tired of trying to poison and demoralize our people through fake news and disinformation. To win battles on the military front, on the political front, and on the mental front, we must have citizens and young people who are well-informed and well-educated, who know their history, who understand where we want to go, and who are aware of the geopolitical stakes of the current world.

He also told us that when Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro came to see him, he congratulated him for speaking directly to the African people. President Maduro told him that, in his time, Comandante Hugo Chavez used to speak to the Venezuelan people every single day. And that one day, when someone asked Commandante Chavez why he did that, he replied that the people needed it because the enemy never misses an opportunity to poison them with lies.

President Capt Traore also shared with us the story of his meeting with a young woman who, a few years ago, had wanted to start producing medical cotton for healthcare use. At the time, people had called her crazy and said her project was doomed to fail, and even confiscated her equipment and shut down her factory. His government has since given her the means to relaunch her project, and this morning, the factory was inaugurated.

The President recalled that the revival of the Institute of Black Peoples, which was originally created by President Thomas Sankara and later abandoned, must serve as a platform for all those committed to awakening consciousness. He said it should allow everyone to take part and make themselves available to help train as many Africans as possible, whether in person or online.

He once again thanked us and wished us a safe journey back home.

US CITIZENS TO PAY $10,000 TO ENTER MALI

Mali has announced that US citizens will now be required to post a deposit — a refundable bond of up to $10,000 — before being granted business or tourist visas.

The move mirrors a similar visa policy recently imposed by the United States on several African nations, including Mali. Mali’s foreign ministry said the decision was made in response to Washington’s “unilateral” measure, while the U.S. embassy in Bamako stated the fee was intended to protect America’s borders and national security. The change comes despite recent efforts to improve ties between the two countries. In July, US officials visited Mali to discuss counterterrorism cooperation and potential investments in the country’s gold and lithium sectors.

SOLDIERS SIDE WITH ANTI-GOVERNMENT PROTESTORS IN MADAGASCAR ..President Issues Coup Alert

Thousands of Protestors have matched into Madagascar's capital demanding for the resignation of President Andry Rajoelina.

According to Al Jazeera monitored by Africa TV some Soldiers have sided with the anti government Protesters urging Police against shooting Protesters.

President Rajoelina who came into power through same protests at the time has since issued a warning of an attempted coup following a dramatic escalation in political tensions. An elite army unit known as CAPSAT, which was instrumental in bringing Rajoelina to power in 2009, has joined anti-government protesters and is urging other soldiers to support the movement.

He has however dissolved his government and appointed Head of the Military as Prime Minister to calm the situation.

The Protesters have however rejected any negotiations calling for President Rajoelina to immediately step down.

The entry by mass protests today in the historical protest site was happening for the first time since protests begun.
