All deliveries were done by 7.30 this morning, you would be forgiven for thinking you had missed a few months and woken up in November! It's very wet out there. Many leaves and lots of debris on the roads, along with flooded areas on some roads, so take good care if you are heading out on the roads this morning.

A quick heads up, if you are travelling through Forge lane from Ashburnham to Penhurst; there has been Flytipping overnight, approximately 200m from the junction with church road. Large vehicles will struggle to pass it.

Having been ask many times the origins of our Home News delivery business, I thought it would be useful for those who are interested, to give you our back story.
The business started its life in Dallington Street, originally part of the Business run by Mr Henderson at the old Post office, which is now called, The White house.
Mr Henderson wanted to sell the News round business and close the post office back in the early 1940s. My Grandfather, Will Buss, the village Blacksmith bought the Newsround for his two daughters to run. (it was part of his cunning plan to stop his two Daughters from being evacuated, and it worked).
They run it successfully through the war years and my aunt, and her husband George Carter took it on when he left the army after the end of the war, they run it until his retirement in 1986, at which point, my parents took it on to run alongside their farming at Ponts Green Farm Ashburnham. As a family we have run it ever since, adding extra area and extra clients along the way.
We also added free-range eggs to our deliveries, and these have proved extremely popular, particularly during recent times.
Dawn and I have now clocked up a combined total of 70 years of experience in the News industry, serving hundreds of clients in the local area. We travel over 70 miles each morning, starting at 5.30am and aiming to be finished around 8.00am, weather permitting.
So, there you have it folks, our potted history.
A local business dedicated to local residents.
