Phase sat down with Avice Caro at writer & Phase poetry editor ‘s flat in Dalston.

The folk project of , Avice Caro draws from her childhood spent between the Latvian countryside and North London. Last summer she released Home Demos, recorded on a 1940s ribbon mic.

Curious to know everything about the album, with Pierre the cat purring at our feet, and lulled by Mazzy Star and Leonard Cohen CDs, we discussed romantic relationships in 2025, femininity, literature, fairies, and the power of folk music.

A massive thanks to .band for coming through as a two-piece even though half their band were struck down with a dastardly illness. Their set was one of the highlights of the night! 💫

They played an absolutely gorgeous handful of original folk songs and we would thoroughly recommend anyone who missed them to trek to see them wherever they play next! 👁

The final band to be announced for tomorrow’s launch is our very own ☄️

An eclectic three piece playing their London Début 👨‍👧‍👦

Notoriously elusive and difficult to book, I will reveal no more about them except to say that they are very good I promise 😏

All tickets for the launch are now SOLD OUT and very sadly there will be no tickets on the door

But do not fear, as this is only the first of many Phase events

The next band on the lineup is a real treat for the ears 👂

If you’ve ever been down to south east London you may have come across this lovely bunch of boys strumming, twanging out gorgeous beats and grooves straight out of a smokey 60s saloon 🍻

They are just aren’t just quasimodo, they’re the full modo ✨

I have a ‘hunch´after seeing them once you’ll be ‘back’ for more

Our evening of music will cover land, sea, and air, from the distant oceans to the Wild West ☀️

🛥 If Memory of Speke transport you to a Lizzy Mercier Descloux concert on a cruise ship, The Uglies drop you sandy and drunk into the Nevada desert. 🏜

The soundtrack to a Spaghetti Western or a 1960’s gangster movie, blending elements of Serge Gainsbourg’s Bonnie and Clyde, The Shadows, and Ennio Morricone 💣

They put on a blinding live show and we’ve had them in mind for the launch for a very long time 🌵

👀 Come and see the one and only Memory of Speke at the Phase #1 Launch party next Saturday! 👀

💣 We first saw these guys last year and fell in love. After that we went to see them at nearly every show they played

They have stumbled upon a unique blend of high energy nautical whimsy and impossibly naughty, danceable grooves. An experience akin to being in a lifeboat, in the middle of the ocean, caught in a storm, with a boxer, who plays the saxophone. They really are one of a kind and not one to miss!

And they are just one of the incredible bands playing next Saturday
