Our friend Kelly has a great and very friendly little business called Kelly's Smellies. It is based at Unit 5, Whessoe Road, and has a website and a page as well. If you haven't visited the physical shop yet, here are the opening hours.

I’m up and ready for the week ahead, so let’s take a look at what’s happening.

Monday 7th July we are open from 10am until 3pm
Tuesday 10-3pm
Wednesday 10-3pm
Thursday the shop is closed as we are popping up at EE Nexus in Darlington
Friday 10-3pm
Saturday 11am-2:30pm
Sunday 13th - Whessoe Parish Hall craft fair 11-3pm

Some of you were lucky enough to get your hands on the new fragrances coming out in the hoover discs yesterday! These will be released later this week, alongside new fragrances in our car diffusers too. Look out for

Pear & Freesia - a fragrance inspired by the iconic Jo Malone, this is strong and different to what you’d expect.

Ghost, a personal favourite of mine, it’s a fragrance I wore on my wedding day, this is not over powering, but very distinctive and long lasting.

Satsuma, clothesline, spring awakening will be restocked and lots of others topped up, just keep checking the website and page.

Guru Boutique’s Story

The spirit of Guru Tribe (which is the driving force behind Guru Boutique), flickered into life around 1969/70 when Guru’s Beryl (after first discovering Kensington High Street and other wonders of London around that life-changing time), attended a legendary music festival on the Isle Of Wight.

Inspired by what she experienced there and had already discovered in ‘swinging’ London, she shared her revelations with her Mam (Irene) and Dad (Rupert). After her parents had also taken a few trips down to London to see for themselves what all the fuss was about, they totally ‘got it’ too.

It became clear what direction the future should take if at all possible. The aim had to be to bring some of this fantastic vibe back to their home town, Darlington.

After a couple of aborted attempts, which resulted in Rupert dropping out of the little trio Irene and Beryl stuck with the dream and by some miracle, in March 1972 Guru Tribe acquired more permanent bricks and mortar premise and Guru Boutique was established.
