Today, Teenage Cancer Trust is launching , a campaign that shines a light on how the visible impacts of cancer can affect young people, inside and out.
13-24 year olds with cancer often share that concerns about body image are as scary in their own way as the fear of painful or drawn-out treatment. That’s why Teenage Cancer Trust’s nurses and youth workers are specially trained to support young people with the impact of cancer on how they look and feel.
While cancer might change the way you look, it can’t take away who you are. shares the stories of young people who’ve found different ways to hold onto their identity during and after cancer – to look in the mirror and say: ‘How I’m feeling is OK. I’m not alone. And I’m still me.’
