ARTIST SPOTLIGHT // MANOOVA

Also joining us on our October Bakery line up is Manoova.

Aka North East DJ and producer Andy Lee. Manoova has been quietly putting in the work behind the decks and in the studio for well over a decade. His productions sit somewhere between deep house, minimal and tech, with a groove-led approach that’s found its way onto labels including Origins Rcrds, Whoyostro, Blind Vision, Pitch BLK and Ball Park.

His music has picked up support from some serious names, while his DJ schedule has taken him from the North East to Ibiza, Russia and Switzerland, sharing lineups with the likes of Steve Lawler, Cinthie, David Squillace and Jackmaster.

He’s also the gaffer behind Remedy Festival, helping build one of the region’s more intimate house music weekends.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT // CARL WALLER

Next up for our October Bakery session is Carl Waller.

Channeling the raw spirit of the original 90s rave era, the Doncaster native delivers house music crafted for the main stage. He boasts a growing catalogue across heavy-hitting labels including Moxy, Armada, Lawless and Pitch, with his tracks and remixes picking up plenty of support along the way.

He’s also clocked up close to a million streams across platforms, alongside an official remix for Inner City. And, adding another serious milestone to the list, one of Carl’s tracks is set to feature in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI.

With regular appearances across the North, including Leeds, Sheffield and Distrikt, Carl continues to build his own lane between classic house influences and a contemporary club sound.

WAX ON 014 🥋

Next up on WAX ON is Dean McGee, one third of North East collective SYNRG Records.

A darker, more energetic mix from Dean, starting out in tech house territory before moving through squelchy electro and warped sounds, eventually heading into more progressive direction towards the end.

As the nights begin to draw in, the bakery returns with a lineup built for darker dancefloors.

First up, Manchester’s Shea-Minta. A regular across the North known for his stripped-back blend of garage, minimal and house, and previously featured on WAX ON 005.

Joining him is Manoova, the gaffer behind Remedy Festival, whose releases on labels including Origins Rcrds and Whoyostro have earned support alongside a busy touring schedule.

Completing the lineup is Carl Waller, a lifelong house music devotee whose productions have appeared on labels including Armada, Lawless, Moxy and Pitch. With close to one million streams across platforms and credits including an official Inner City remix, Carl continues to balance classic influences with his music. His latest production is also set to feature in the upcoming GTA release.

As always, entry is free, with tickets available through Resident Advisor.
