we haven’t even posted yet and three spaces for this month have gone 😮 you guys act fast 💞

RP WINTER SCRIPT SURGERIES 🍂🍁❄️
running from october-> february 2027

grab a focused piece of development feedback on your short film script.

You’ll submit a script of up to 15 pages*, and a member of the RP Development team will read it and provide written notes on what is going well (because we need the positive encouragement!) what could be better, and most importantly…how to fix it!

We’ll look at things like; Story and structure, Characters, Pacing, Dialogue, Themes and ideas.

The aim isn’t to tell you how to rewrite your script, or change your vision. That’s the exciting part you’re in control of!

It’s to help you see your script more clearly and decide what you want to do with it next.

*We have 2 spots per month for scripts up to 20 pages.

day three @ women x 2026 💓☎️ our biggest day, five streams of events happening across two screening rooms, an industry cafe stage, writers residency and family features over at the vue cinema ✨

children lining up to see a sold out KPOP DEMON HUNTERS dressed as their heroes, glitter was everywhere. nostalgic vibes and tiaras at princess diaries, where we supported our local women’s refuge with free tickets 💗

over twenty writers met and worked on their scripts and pitches at our residency, while Girls Club Teesside gathered for crafts and comedy films where women across the area can meet and make new friends by trying something new!

our new cafe chats stage held some interesting conversations in amongst people grabbing their coffee’s and pink loaf cake (thanks NUMBER EIGHT BAKEHOUSE )

the quiz took on new rounds, with a STICK OR SWITCH round which tested film knowledge but also your friendships….barbie nutcracker can heal a nation.

and the films of course, roars of laughter in comedy, singing in the northern strand from the audience when we have a tech glitch and not a dry eye in the house during the motherhood screening where our filmmakers spoke about post partum, surviving breast cancer and the power of talking about how hard it can be during those nights of breastfeeding a newborn.

and we are off 🌸 two days down already! six gorgeous screenings, and we’ve been across four venues already!!!

our night of northern at the brilliant The Forum Music Studios brought the laughs as well as the insights of navigating the film world as women in this region.

the Darlington Library allowed us to showcase our student and emerging filmmakers inbetween the book shelves.

the stunning Community Events | Crafty Workshops | Creative Wellness was a cosy spot away from the rain for our filmmakers to network and create some crafty pieces.

and then home to Darlington Hippodrome & Theatre Hullabaloo for our annual party with Women In Film & TV UK before more screenings late into the evening.

see you all tomorrow for more! 💖
