🪟 Transforming Knockinaam Lodge 🪟

Ventrolla, a specialist in heritage restoration and renovation of timber sash and casement windows, has successfully completed a refurbishment of the historic Knockinaam Lodge, a 19th century luxury hotel in Portpatrick, Dumfries.

Mark Flanagan, Managing Director of Ventrolla, said: “Our team in Scotland worked closely with Knockinaam Lodge from the original survey visit through to fitting. We worked around the hotel’s busy times to ensure guests were not disturbed and we could take the time needed to meticulously refurbish the windows.

“It’s great to see them be brought back to life whilst also improving the heat retention of the property. Thank you to David (owner of Knockinaam Lodge) for trusting us with the process and the property.”

☺️ Retirement reflections ☺️

“Everyone I knew seemed to have a relative working here, and I was no different. My brother worked in the office, and my uncle was a wagon driver for the firm. Even my mother had been employed in the factory making ammunition boxes during the Second World War. When I joined, the company needed machinists, so that’s what I started out doing.”

After an incredible 49 years with the company, Will from Allan Brothers is retiring.

He’s en route to London to lend a hand in the kitchens helping patients, their families and staff as well.

Attendees will see a live LIGNUM demonstration by TJN’s Owen Dare, who will showcase how to manufacture a sash window efficiently using a Felder spindle moulder.
