I found this cute little toy kitchen set strewn over this path with the tiny fridge lying inside a real deep fat fryer, still full of oil. π€’
It was good quality so I knew I had to clean it up and donate it as Iβm sure whoever left it had intended.
Donating items is a great way of helping charities to raise money and is much better for the environment than sending them to landfill. π
But in order for the items you donate to actually help the charity they have to be:
1οΈβ£ Clean, unbroken and fit for sale
2οΈβ£ Left in an appropriate place- i.e. INSIDE the donations bin or handed to the volunteers inside a charity shop.
Leaving bags of donations outside means they can get damaged, stained or stolen. They will be treated by the council as flytipping and could potentially land you a hefty fine!
If in doubt then just give your local charity shop a call and they can tell you if they accept the things you plan to donate and when their opening hours are.
Big thanks to Treetops Allenton Charity Shop for letting me film inside and for generally being such wonderful people. π§‘
Head on down to Allenton in Derby if you want to buy this cute little set!
