🐷 🤝 PiGs and Modern Joinery News announce new appointment 🤝🐷

PiGs AKA People in Glazing Society, and its sister publication, Modern Joinery News, has appointed Rachael Lewis in a newly created role to deliver the growth plans across both brands.

Rachael will be working alongside George and Sarah as Events and Content Coordinator for PiGs, and Content Coordinator for Modern Joinery News.

Rachael said about her appointment: “I’m delighted to be joining PiGs and Modern Joinery News at such an exciting time for the brands.

“Being new to the industry, I’m hoping to bring fresh eyes to the role, using experiences from other industries to hopefully take the brands to even greater heights.

“What Sarah and George have done already makes me really excited to get started.”

Sarah Ball, PiGs Sty Master and Modern Joinery News Founder, added: “Join me in welcoming Rachael – you can meet her face to face as she will be with us at Bristol PiGs plus at the Women in Fenestration Development Day, both on 25 June.”

It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our friend Jason Scrivens. Jason simply loved the industry and touched the hearts of so many of us. He was such a lovely man and always had a great story to tell – as well as his family, his epic DJ-ing or his football coaching were great topics of conversation.

We knew him so well because he was a big supporter of PiGs and came to as many of our events as he could, in fact we last saw him at in Birmingham in February. He was super connected and had many friends in the industry.

We are saddened and shocked by his untimely death, and to honour his life, we will be taking a moment of reflection and saying a final cheers to Jason at 6.30pm on 25 June at the Bristol PiGs, his local event.

Our love and thoughts are with his family and friends.

🤝Crystal Units boosts local ties with Barnet Council programme 🤝

Barnet Council's Construction Supply Chain Programme has been developed to connect local manufacturers with contractors and developers working across the borough, one of which includes Crystal Units Units.

The initiative focuses on keeping investment, skills and opportunity within the local area, while raising standards across construction projects through closer collaboration between trusted suppliers and delivery teams.

Through the programme, the company has been able to introduce its advanced glazing solutions to a wider network of construction professionals, while demonstrating how modern glass technologies can play a key role in improving building performance.

Phil Hallworth, Technical & Sales Director at Crystal Units, commented: “Programmes like this are important because they bring the right people together early on. When local manufacturers are part of the conversation from the start, projects benefit. There’s better understanding of what’s possible, better coordination, and ultimately a higher standard of delivery."
