I think one of the saddest things about modern life is how many women are functioning so far beyond their emotional capacity… whilst convincing themselves they’re “fine” because they’re still managing to keep everything going.

Bills get paid.
Kids are looked after.
Shifts get done.
Responsibilities get handled.

So from the outside, it looks like coping.

But I don’t think constantly operating in survival mode without space to breathe, think, feel or fully rest is actually living.

And the difficult part is that this lifestyle gets reinforced everywhere.

Work harder.
Push through.
Keep going.
Be grateful.
Don’t complain.

Very few women are ever encouraged to stop and ask:
“Is this actually the life I want long-term?”

Not next week.
Not after this stressful month.
Long-term.

Because sometimes the problem isn’t that you’re failing to cope.

Sometimes the problem is that your nervous system is trying to tell you the way you’re living no longer fits who you’re becoming.

So ask yourself honestly:
“What would my life look like if it didn’t revolve around survival all the time?”

If that question hit something in you, my free 25-minute training is for ambitious women in caring professions who know they want more from life than just surviving it.

I’ve been here.

Calculating what I can realistically afford each month.
Working out how many extra shifts I need to pick up.
Trying to stay ahead financially whilst still wanting to actually enjoy my life too.

And I know so many Vet Nurses are doing the exact same thing quietly in the background.

The cycle becomes:
work more → recover → catch up financially → repeat.

But the problem is… overtime only solves the immediate pressure.

It doesn’t actually change your long-term financial position.

Because the second you stop picking up extra hours, the extra income stops too.

And honestly, I think that’s the part more people are starting to wake up to now.

Especially in careers where we are already emotionally and physically stretched.

That’s why I stopped looking at “more shifts” as the only option.

Instead, I started learning how to build additional income online alongside Vet Nursing using systems, paid ads and high-profit products.

Not because I wanted to leave my career overnight.

But because I wanted to build something that could eventually create more stability, more breathing room, and more options outside of constantly trading time for money.

And I think more caring professionals deserve to know there are other ways to build financially now.

There’s a certain type of woman I seem to meet more and more lately.

She’s capable.
Responsible.
The one people rely on.

She works hard, cares deeply, keeps everything moving… but somewhere underneath all of that, she’s started wondering if life is supposed to feel bigger than this.

Not in a dramatic way.
Not “quit your job and disappear to Bali” energy.

Just… bigger.

More choice in her weeks.
More stability in her future.
More mornings where she isn’t immediately calculating time, energy, money, shifts, responsibilities.

I think so many caring women have been taught that wanting more automatically means being ungrateful for what you already have.

And I just don’t believe that’s true anymore.

You can love your career and still want to build a life with more space in it.
You can be passionate about helping people and still desire financial growth, flexibility, experiences, peace of mind.
You can be grounded and ambitious at the same time.

That’s a huge part of what changed for me.

I stopped seeing “more” as greed.
And started seeing it as expansion.

More memories with my dogs.
More time outdoors.
More opportunities.
More ownership over my future.
More of life actually feeling like mine.

And honestly?
That shift changed the direction of my entire life.

If you’ve been quietly thinking about building something alongside the career you already have… this page was probably made for you. 🌿

I think one of the biggest shifts I’ve had over the last couple of years is realising that financial stress isn’t always about being “bad with money”.

Sometimes it’s structural.

There are so many women in caring professions doing everything right.
Working hard.
Picking up extra shifts.
Being responsible.
Trying to save.

And still feeling like they’re barely moving forward.

That realisation changed the way I started thinking about income completely.

Because I stopped asking:
“How can I work more?”

And started asking:
“How can I build more?”

How can I create income that isn’t fully dependent on me constantly being at work?
How can I build something that gives me more options long term?
How can I stop feeling like my entire future is attached to a rota?

That mindset shift is a huge part of why I started building alongside Vet Nursing.

Not to “get rich quick”.
Not to leave my career overnight.

But to create more stability, more flexibility and more freedom over my life over time.

And honestly?
I think more women are starting to think this way too.

Lately I’ve realised how easy it is to live life in very short time frames.

The next shift.
The next week.
The next pay day.
The next holiday.
The next moment you finally get to rest.

And somewhere along the way, I think a lot of us stop properly asking ourselves where we actually want our lives to go.

This exercise genuinely shifted something for me.

Not in a dramatic overnight way.
But in a quiet, honest way.

Because when you sit down and really think about:
• Who you were
•Who you are now
•and who you want to become

…it becomes very difficult to ignore the gap between surviving and actually living.

I think your late twenties can feel confronting because you start realising that the life you want probably won’t appear by accident.

At some point you have to intentionally start building it.

Not just professionally.
Personally too.

And honestly, that’s one of the biggest reasons I started changing the direction of my own life.

I didn’t just want a successful career.

I wanted more freedom.
More peace.
More options.
More presence.
More life outside of work.

Maybe this is your reminder to sit quietly with yourself for 5 minutes this weekend and ask:
“What do I actually want my life to look like?”

Not what’s realistic.
Not what other people expect.

What YOU want.

Because that question can change everything.

I think a lot of women in Vet Nursing carry guilt around wanting more financially.

As if wanting more money somehow means you care less about the job.
Or less about the animals.
Or less about people.

And I honestly believed that for a long time too.

There’s this unspoken idea in caring professions that passion should outweigh everything else. That being fulfilled by the work should be enough to compensate for the pressure, responsibility, exhaustion and emotional load that comes with it.

But eventually I started questioning why those two things had to cancel each other out.

Why is it acceptable to be constantly stressed about money, exhausted from overtime and quietly anxious about the future… but wanting more financial stability is somehow seen as selfish?

Especially when most people aren’t asking for luxury.
They’re asking for:
- space to breathe
- the ability to say no to extra shifts
- a house
- time with their family or dogs
- not feeling physically dependent on every pay cheque

That’s not greed.

That’s wanting a life that feels sustainable.

And I think the biggest mindset shift for me was realising that the lifestyle I wanted was never going to come purely from working harder inside the same structure.

Because there’s a limit to how much one salary can stretch.
Especially when it’s tied directly to your time and energy.

That’s what opened my mind to learning about business, assets, online income and different ways people build financial stability outside of traditional careers.

Not because I suddenly wanted a Lamborghini and a penthouse.

I just didn’t want my entire future resting on how many hours I could physically work forever.

And I think more women feel that than they admit out loud.

I don’t think I realised how much of adulthood was built around just… maintaining life.

You work hard to become qualified.
You finally start earning more than you did before.
You become more responsible. More capable. More relied on.

And then one day you look around and realise most of your income already belongs somewhere before you’ve even earned it.

Bills.
Food shops.
Fuel.
Rent.
The dog’s insurance renewal.
Life.

And I think for a long time I just accepted that this was what being an adult was supposed to feel like. Slightly tired all the time. Slightly financially conscious all the time. Waiting for the next pay day despite working constantly.

Not struggling.
But not really building either.

That’s probably the biggest shift my late twenties have brought me.

Realising there’s a difference between earning enough to survive your life… and actually building one.

Because I don’t think most people in caring professions are lazy with money at all. If anything, we become very good at stretching it, managing it, being sensible with it.

But there’s only so much you can do when your entire income depends on you physically being at work.

And I think that’s why I became so interested in learning about online business, assets, second incomes and different ways people create stability outside of salaries.

Not from a place of greed.

More from a place of wanting space.
Wanting options.
Wanting my future to feel a little less fragile.

Honestly, I still think a lot of women quietly feel this but don’t really know how to put it into words yet.

06/05/2026

I used to think the answer was earning more within Vet Nursing.

More responsibility.
More leadership.
More hours.
More overtime.

But eventually I realised something that completely changed how I viewed work and money:

my income could only grow if my time and energy did too.

That’s a very difficult system to create long-term stability from. Especially in caring professions where the emotional and physical demand is already high.

And I think a lot of women silently feel this.

Not because they’re lazy.
Not because they don’t love what they do.
But because deep down they know they cannot continue giving this much of themselves forever without something changing.

That’s what started this journey for me.

Not “getting rich quick.”
Not escaping hard work.

But learning how to build something alongside Vet Nursing that could eventually create:
more options,
more breathing space,
more time with my dogs,
and more control over my future.

No one teaches us this stuff growing up.

Most of us are taught:
study hard → get the job → work more hours → hope it gets easier.

But there are other ways to build now.
And more women in caring professions are finally waking up to that.

05/05/2026

I didn’t burn out because I couldn’t handle Vet Nursing.
I burned out because there was no space to step back from it.

That’s the part I wish someone had said to me earlier.

Because when you’re in it, you don’t question the structure.
You just keep showing up.
Picking up shifts.
Trying to recover on your days off.
Telling yourself it’s just a busy period.

But nothing actually changes.

You get better at the job.
More responsibility.
More pressure.
Same system.

And that’s where it started to feel off for me.

Not because I didn’t care.
If anything, I cared too much.

But I realised I didn’t want my entire life to be built around a rota I had no control over.
And I didn’t want my only option to be “keep going” or “walk away completely”.

So I stopped looking for a better version of the same thing…
and started building something alongside it instead.

Quietly.
In the background.
While still working.

That decision is the only reason I’ve been able to reduce my hours without that underlying panic.
And it’s the reason I’m not stuck in that same cycle anymore.

You don’t have to wait until you’re completely burnt out to question it.
Most people do.
I did.

But if you’re starting to feel it… that’s usually enough.

Comment BUILD and I’ll send you what I started with.

Oh hey…can the British summer return please. Thanks 🙏🏼

Bank holiday Monday night shift pending 🫡

Preparing for the worst… which can only mean it gets better right 😂

Hope everyone’s had a good one. I’ve done the dog walk, had a coffee, and now I’m just sat here pretending I’m not about to ruin my sleep for the next few days.

Bank holiday shifts are always a bit of a wildcard as well… you just turn up and see what happens.

I’ll be in scrubs, under bright lights, living off snacks and whatever’s in the biscuit tin, trying to remember what day it actually is at 3am.

And then tomorrow is that weird half-human, half-zombie recovery day where you tell yourself you’ll “reset properly” and somehow never do.

But also quietly working towards not having to work bank holidays unless I actually fancy it.

Not in a dramatic “I’m quitting everything” way… just building something alongside this so I’ve got more say in how my time actually looks.

Because I don’t think I realised before how much I just accepted rotas deciding everything.

And I’m not really up for that long term.

Fran xoxo
