Very sad news today, Country music icon Jeannie Seely has died at the age of 85,
She was best known for her songs including 1960s hits Don’t Touch Me, I’ll Love You More (Than You Need) and Can I Sleep In Your Arms? released in 1973.

Jeannie, who also played at legendary venue the Grand Ole Opry more than 5,300 times, died at Summit Medical Center in Tennessee on Friday 01 August 🙏

This day 1964, A private aircraft piloted by Jim Reeves crashed during a thunderstorm near Nashville, Tennessee. Both Jim and business partner Dean Manuel were killed in the crash; their bodies are found two days later following a massive search for the two missing men. Jim became known as a practitioner of the Nashville sound (a mixture of older country-style music with elements of popular music) and his songs continued to chart for years after his death.🎶
