Can you see the Ghost in the picture?

One of BC's most haunted heritage sites… and almost nobody talks about it. 👻

I sat down with Dave Scott from Spaced Out Radio to dig into the paranormal history of the 08 Mile Heritage Site in British Columbia — and what we uncovered gave me chills.

Unexplained activity. Historic trauma. And something that doesn't want to be forgotten.

Two ghost children have been spotted inside this historic Ontario house. 👧🧒👻

The Homer Watson House in Kitchener has a long history of paranormal activity — Homer Watson himself held séances in the home trying to contact his late wife Roxanne — but it’s the children that people can’t explain.

Who are they? Where did they come from? That’s exactly what we’re diving into on the new episode of Haunted Canada. 🎙️

The Ghosts of the Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum

In 1861, wealthy merchant Joshua Bates arrived in Smiths Falls, Ontario with extraordinary ambition. He built mills along the Rideau Canal, courted the railway, and constructed a beautiful home designed to welcome the world from every direction. Six months after moving in, he was dead. His rival took the house. And Joshua Bates was erased from his own story so completely that a poem — “The Forgotten Man” — was written in his memory.

The outside world moved on. The house never did.

In this episode of Haunted Canada, I sit down with Leisa Bell, curator of the Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum, to explore one of Ontario’s most quietly unsettling historic properties. Whether you’re a history lover, a paranormal enthusiast, or just someone who appreciates a ghost story told with honesty and care — this one is for you.

In the 1980s, Martin McCrossan had a vision — to bring the stories of Derry to life through tourism. Everyone thought he was crazy.

He did it anyway.

He founded McCrossan City Tours — and it became a massive success, transforming how the world saw and experienced one of Ireland's most historic cities.

Sadly, Martin passed away in 2015. But his legacy lives on — the city of Derry honoured him with a statue, naming him Mr. Derry. A tourism hero.

His daughter Charlene shared his story with me. And as someone who started my own tour business and was told I was crazy too — this one hit me right in the heart. 🖤

This is what it looks like when you believe in a city's stories hard enough to build a life around them.

🏰 The Game of Thrones Door That Had to Be Hidden for Weeks 🏰

I need to tell you about the most extraordinary thing I discovered at Ballygally Castle in Northern Ireland.

At the entrance to the castle restaurant, there is a door. Most guests walk right past it. But this is no ordinary door.

This is the actual door from Game of Thrones — Season 6, Episode 9: Battle of the Bastards. One of the most iconic, most-watched episodes in the history of television.

But here is the part of this story that stopped me cold.

Ballygally Castle received this door several weeks BEFORE the episode aired on June 19, 2016. And the problem? The door's design — its carvings, its imagery, its detail — revealed who won the Battle of the Bastards. It was a physical spoiler, sitting in the lobby of a hotel.

So the hotel did the only thing they could.

They covered the entire door in wood and told no one.

For weeks, Ballygally Castle — a 400-year-old haunted castle on the wild Antrim Coast — held one of the biggest secrets in Game of Thrones history behind a sheet of timber. Staff knew. Guests had no idea. The world was still waiting to find out who survived the Battle of the Bastards.

Then June 19, 2016 arrived. The episode aired. The world finally knew.
And the covering came down.

That door has stood at the entrance to the restaurant ever since, in full view, one of the most remarkable pieces of television history hiding in plain sight in a castle that has been standing since 1625.

As the host of Haunted Canada Podcast and owner of Edmonton Ghost Tours, I thought I had heard every great haunted history story Ireland had to offer.

Ballygally Castle proved me wrong. 🕯️

Would you have known what you were looking at if you walked through that door? Tell me in the comments! 👇

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ballygally Castle — unforgettable in every way.

✦ I Stayed in a 400-Year-Old Haunted Castle — and I'll Never Be the Same ✦
Friends, I have to tell you about Ballygally Castle.

Built in 1625 on the wild Antrim Coast of Northern Ireland, Ballygally Castle sits right on the edge of the Irish Sea — and from the moment you arrive, you feel the weight of four centuries pressing in around you. The views are breathtaking. The sound of the ocean through your window at night is the most beautiful thing you've ever heard. And the restaurant serves some of the finest food in Ireland.

But then there's the other side of Ballygally.

James Shaw built this castle in 1625. His wife, Isabella, gave birth to a daughter when he desperately wanted a male heir. He locked her in the tower. She tried to escape. She didn't make it. And they say — to this day — that Isabella Shaw has never left.

We stayed in the Lighthouse Suite. Ocean views that will ruin every other hotel for you forever. Elegant, comfortable, and romantic in every way.
And yes — I felt her. 👻

As the host of Haunted Canada Podcast and the owner of Edmonton Ghost Tours, I have stood in a lot of haunted spaces across Canada and now Europe.

Ballygally Castle has a presence unlike anywhere I have visited.
Oh — and Game of Thrones fans? There is a door from Season 6 at the entrance to the restaurant. A whole separate post is coming for that one.

If Ireland or Northern Ireland is on your travel list — Ballygally Castle is non-negotiable. Book the ocean view room. Open the windows. Listen to the waves.

And say hello to Lady Isabella’s ghost while you're there. 🕯️

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ — Absolutely flawless in every way.

New Episode of Haunted Canada

There's a rule at this museum that staff never
break. 😨

If you hear the little girl laughing…
don't talk back to her. 👧🏻

The Wellington County Museum in Fergus, Ontario
was built as a poorhouse in 1877. 271 souls are
buried in the pauper cemetery on the grounds.
Twice that number died inside.

Footsteps on empty hallways. Rocking chairs
moving on their own. The smell of cigar smoke
in rooms with no one in them.

And a little girl whose laughter echoes through
the kitchen. At midnight. 🕯️

The Ghosts of the Poorhouse is out NOW on
