“Nervous about your driving test? Read this before you get in the car.”
Big day coming up? Your driving test is around the corner and feeling a bit nervous is completely normal.
Let’s talk about a few things that can help you feel ready and in control on the day.
1. Get a proper night’s sleep. This is one of the best things you can do for yourself. A tired brain makes small mistakes that you would normally avoid. Rest up so you feel sharp.
2. Have something to eat. Even if your stomach feels too nervous, try a light breakfast or snack. Driving on an empty stomach is like trying to run a car on almost no fuel.
3. Arrive with time to spare. Getting there ten to fifteen minutes early gives you space to relax and gather your thoughts without feeling rushed.
4. Take a few deep breaths before you start. It might sound simple, but slowing your breathing can stop shaky hands and help you think clearly.
5. Remember that one small mistake does not mean you have failed. Everyone has moments where they could have done better. Keep going, stay focused and finish the drive strong.
You have worked hard for this and you are more prepared than you think. On the day, trust yourself and treat it like another drive with someone in the passenger seat.
