Around this time of year thoughts turn to the big question. Is there a DP shot of the year?

It's a very random process, no criteria, no judging panel just an arbitrary decision based on something that catches my eye. Some years there are too many to choose from, other years I forget to look. But 2025 is not a forgotten year.

We have a winner. A couple of firsts...a drone shot and a new winner. The last time it was awarded was in 2022 and it was Eilidh 's shot from that year's Ness Factor. She's lost the mantle this year it's Allan 's opening sequence from a film we made for HIE and IMULAB.

There is just something about it that jumped out at me so here you go SOTY 2025.

Two weeks on from the we thought we’d update you on what happened next.

We decided to pop in to see the guys at Culloden Cars with a congratulatory dram from another fellow chamber member Tomatin Distillery Co Ltd

They might have pipped our Organ Donation Campaign to the Marketing Award but they are a genuinely nice bunch of guys and we are really happy for them. That said we didn’t leave empty handed...

While they were there Allan and Eilidh took the chance to get Craig to agree to promote our organ donation campaign to their audience. So watch out for Culloden Cars talking about NHSH Organ Donation (there’s no going back now Craig we caught you on camera saying yes 😊 )

Huge thanks for agreeing to do that and congrats again on your well deserved win.

Thanks to Inverness Chamber of Commerce without whom there would be no awards and Nicky Marr who got us involved in the first place and kept us going throughout the campaign with her boundless enthusiasm.

There really is nowhere quite like the Highlands when it comes to businesses working together.
