Due to a heady combination of factors ranging from excitement, alcohol, miscommunication, rampant neurodiversity and standard McChuills patter, you may have seen this information in various locations over the last 48 hours or so , but just in case…
Our comrades Manifesto of Bliss have David Holmes coming back to McChuills and he’s bringing thee immense Deeply Armed with him.
MoB first met the Belfast band at Convenanza Festival 2023 and were blown away by their single The Healing, which “hit like a mix of Happy Mondays, krautrock, dub, and The Stone Roses psychedelia”, and which was later remixed by Keith Tenniswood into a deep electro-dub workout.
In 2024, they played those tracks live at Bar à Vin, Carcassonne, then brought the energy home to Glasgow and more specifically, to McChuills. Their first night here with David Holmes led to Belfast’s Menagerie, where God’s Waiting Room v Manifesto of Bliss and Deeply Armed lit up a sold-out crowd.
Now, with Richard Fearless’ hypnotic 10-minute remix of The Healing out, we’re proud to announce the return leg. A night of live electronics, guitars, dub and deep dancefloor vibrations. We seem to be saying it a lot these days, but this one is really not one to be missed.
And yes, it’s a on a Sunday night. As David has already announced, this party will be in remembrance of our dear friend, the late, great Keith McIvor aka JD Twitch (Optimo (Espacio)/Optimo Music), so what better day to be having it than the one he and Jonnie will forever be remembered for turning into the highlight of the week, every week, eh?
So yes, it’s a Sunday. But it’s David Holmes. It’s Deeply Armed. It’s McChuills. It’s an early finish. And it’s for Keith. And whit? Let’s dae this.
