Everyday a blessing,
My heart ever unresting,
Many years have just begun,
And our future full of fun.

Happy Valentines, all you bookstagramers and lovely people.
And if you're alone today, don't sweat it. Love is scared and cherished. The universe knows this and is waiting for the right person for you. Not just anyone, but your equal. Your ying to their yang. Be patient and, more importantly, authentic.

In the light of Trump’s Presidency, several US firms have scaled by their DEI (Diversity and Inclusion programs) from their company policy. The biggest company on the list is Walmart, who’s scaling back Racial and Diversity training, working with suppliers from minority backgrounds (this includes veterans), and charity that helps marginalised Americans. Given 42% of Walmart’s workforce is people of colour, it stands to show how some companies really feel about their staff members.

After Thatcher and Ragan, CEOs earned 400% more than their average employee (before it was roughly 40% more). This wealth divide is a key reason poverty is at an all-time high in western nations. In the process, many CEOs have little contact with their staff, thus, fail to understand how such actions degrade them. The sickening part of Walmart is their reasoning, “We are willing to change alongside our associates and customers who represent all of America. We’ve been on a journey and know we aren’t perfect, but every decision comes from a place of wanting to foster a sense of belonging.”

What an Orwellian response.

Is this the biggest problem we face? No. However, it’s a shift to a larger one. A shift that slides out of favour with humanity and into a dark past. A past we once fought against. When social hierarchies go aloud without impunity, the results get ugly. How can I say this? Look at the summer riots. Look at January 6th. Look at Italy on January 3rd, 1925. History doesn’t repeat, but it certainly rhymes.

And we’re entering the bridge.

Hello dear readers, it is I, Jack’s editor for my weekly update, and can you believe it? My poor writer has come down with another cold. Oh yes, his second within two weeks. His third in two months. This one was a lot snottier and sneezier as the others; honestly, I should’ve put shares in Kleenex. I’ve done my best to aid him. At nighttime, I snuggle into him. This, of course, had a double benefit, because I made him feel comfortable, whilst I stole his body heat. Indeed, the poor sod was like a furnace, ripe for the taking.

I jest, of course, because I did worry. Especially when he doesn’t write or goes to bed incredibly early, which he did. Nevertheless, all I can do is care for him as he does me. Often, I would lay on his legs, trapping him in the comfort of the duvet. It must’ve worked, as he’s much better now. Hopefully, he’s well enough to start reading again, so I can sit on his lap whilst he reads.

Hello dear readers, it is I, Jack’s Editor, back with my weekly update. The weather’s still cold and my writer, bless his heart, makes me a den before he goes to work. Though, I’ve found myself retreating to the radiators in the evening or just keeping away. Of course, my writer knows it’s SAD playing up and comes to pester me. At the time, I act annoyed but really; I enjoy it. After all, on many occasions, it gets me out of a funk. Then there're the times he’s writing in the evening and, whilst I may be feeling low under his desk, he’s still there checking up on me.

We all get the funk from time to time, and it’s good to have those people who, despite your insistence, won’t leave you alone. It’s in their annoyance, love abides. A gentle reminder that people care. It’s why he doesn’t get mad when I cut him during our play because love abides.

Till next time, my adoring fans.

Before the referendum, the BBC received praise for its output. Of course, people recognised the organisation's problems; problems that continue to this day. However, I would argue these problems aren’t unique to the BBC, rather a symptom of bankable stars with too much influence; an issue within many industries – note: analysis isn’t justification. Nevertheless, the world understood the BBC’s influence on culture and journalism was unmatched. So, why then, in Britain, has the tide slowly changed and for what purpose?

Both the left and right criticise the BBC’s news coverage; proof of its impartiality. Though, it’s the impartiality and lack of influence from advertisers that threatens some of the political sphere. The BBC is part owned by the public, hence the need for impartiality. But, in the digital age of alternative media, impartiality disrupts the propaganda these channels seek to push. Channels like GB News, who has Nigel Farage, a sitting MP, broadcast to the masses.

These ‘independent’ channels are typically funded by or people affiliated with certain political ideologies; for example, oil Fracking billionaires the Wilks Brothers fund The Daily Wire. Likewise, Hedge Fund Millionaire Sir Paul Marshall owns GB News. So, are The Daily Wire ‘independent?’ I think, not. Does GB News have an agenda? Most definitely. And what is their agenda? Keep a close eye on American in the coming years or, better yet, look at how bad Argentina’s doing right now – another President Elon Musk supported.

These people want to cripple the BBC because it’s publicly owned. Don’t believe me, then why does Farage, a sitting MP and host on BG News, want to replace the NHS with an insurance-based model? Because to them, you’re just another cheque.

Hello dear readers, it is I, Jack’s editor, with my weekly roundup and, my lord, it’s been rather chilly. Luckily for me, my writer has been under the weather… again. This time, however, it was not so bad – man flu as you hooman’s call it. Because of this, he’s been able to put the heating on more often and, as he told me, make sure it’s on a reasonable setting when he goes back to the office. That’s right, whilst he’s been ill, he’s been working from home – his day job, so I’m not required.

Despite the circumstances, it’s nice having him around. Sure, I spend most of the day asleep, but it still gets rather lonely. Don’t think I’m not grateful to my writer, of course. He gives me nothing but love and kindness. It’s just at times when I wake up and the room’s empty, I’m reminded of those days I spent frightened before the shelter got me. The fear that maybe he’ll not return. Of course, he always does, and my excitement couldn’t be greater. Oh, how I purr and have a tail ecstatically fluffed. Then I remember, it’s all ok.

Till next time, my adoring fans.
