Hello there! It’s me, Captain Caterpillar!

A quick trip out to the garden this morning before breakfast. It’s a bit too cool for much bug activity at this time but let’s look at the bug hotel!

Have a great day and be kind to yourself.

We’ve had a postcard from our friends Huggie, Ted and Winston at Huggie Bear Hammond! They have been on holiday and say that they have had a great time getting out and about seeing new things. Their favourite part was using the hot tub! It was great fun!

Thanks for thinking of us friends.

Have a great day and be kind to yourself.

Oh, we’ve been caught again by the dastardly pawparazzi!

Happy Bottoms to Wednesday folks!

Hello there! It’s me Captain Caterpillar! It has been a very busy year for insects in the garden. I was going to give you an up date on the residents of the bug hotel this morning but it is raining too heavily for bear fur!

Have a pawsome day and be kind to yourself!

Throwback to September 2025.

This time last year we were harvesting plums and pears and looking at our very small ‘giant’ sunflower.

The plums spoiled in the heat and wind a month ago. The pears are very small still and no sunflowers.

This is the great thing about gardening- you never know what you are going to get and have to be creative with what you get.

Huge amounts of tomatoes, beetroot and rhubarb this year to make up for it!

Be kind to yourself.

Hello there! It’s me, Ted. I had a quick check around the garden this morning just before it rained.

It’s that time of year when us gardeners think about what worked well this year. I think we will definitely grow these next year. They have provided such great flowers even in the toughest conditions and still going strong. We bought these as single plants from a neighbour’s plant stall but will get some seeds and grow our own for next year. We won’t be trying sunflowers again as they just don’t get started here.🤷‍♀️

Ted and I will be using the magic pay now button buying some bulbs as planting season starts soon! Tulips from Amsterdam perhaps?

Have you bears had any successes or failures in your gardens this year? We would love to hear about them and see pictures!🌷🥀
